This thing is amazing.
I am the second owner of this truck. It has been in Northern California it's whole life and always stored inside. I would say it fits into the category of trucks with a "patina" type paint surface due to the tiny, tiny bit of worn through paint but from 20 feet away, you can't tell the paint isn't prefect.
It even still has the original Car Lite windshield that came with the truck!
It has never been repainted. The rubber is also original and therefore is aged and cracked in places and could use replacement. I didn't change the rubber because it adds to the originality in my opinion. There is a slight dent in the RF fender but it really is a pushed in spot that did not even damage the paint and it does not show up in the pictures. Another tiny dent in the lower part of the tailgate where the PO missed hooking up his boat to the tow hitch. Otherwise, the body is amazing. There is absolutely NO RUST! The bed was covered by a shell for awhile so even the paint in the bed is fantastic.
The engine is the original 352 CI V8, a C6 automatic transmission that was rebuilt about 9k miles ago by the PO (I have the receipt), 2WD, long bed. I did a valve job on the heads and added hardened valve seats. The engine leaks a little here and there but nothing bad at all.
I did change a few things to make it more drivable: I added HEI style distributor, added used stainless hub caps and trim rings to the stock wheels. I replaced the stock front drums with the front power disk brakes, booster and dual master cylinder and proportioning valve, column, and power steering from a 1973 Ford F100. I added new stock size tires, replaced the original floor mat with a new reproduction. I replaced the old seat cover with a new seat cover with Ford embossed logo as original. I added a new chrome rear bumper and removed the old Barden type shown in the pictures.
It has a clear California title and the registration is good until May of 2014.
FYI: The newer radio works but the prior owner cut the dash to install it.
I work in Canada so give me time to respond to emails, etc. The truck is located near Sacramento and I can arrange to have it viewed with some notice. This is a once in a lifetime chance to find an unmolested, drivable, original painted vintage truck. you won't be disappointed. Every time I am back in California, this is my daily driver. (all my other cars are older!)
I'm selling it because I have too many projects and I am tired of paying for storage. My 65 Ford F100 Crew Cab is next on the list!
I also replaced the shocks and the exhaust. If you need additional pictures I can arrange to email them to you. (the last few pictures I uploaded show the new rear bumper and the trim rings and the engine shot. Oh yeah, and I use the truck as you can see!
You will have to arrange shipping but I could accommodate taking to somewhere in the nearby area if you needed me to. Good luck bidding.

2016 Ford Fusion hybrid, plug-in getting $900 price cut
Thu, Feb 19 2015While the overall the green car market in the US suffered a slump in 2014 with a 6.5-percent drop in sales, the demand for electric vehicles and plug-ins actually jumped a healthy 28 percent. The Ford Fusion Energi plug-in was among the winners in the segment with a nearly 90 percent boost to 11,550 examples sold for the year. To keep the ball rolling in the face of low gas prices and updated challengers entering the field, the Blue Oval is slashing $900 off the cost of both the Energi and standard Fusion Hybrid to make them even more attractive to buyers. Ford's Monique Brentley told Autoblog that, the reduction was done, "basically, just to attract more customers and promote sales." The cut affects every trim of both electrically assisted versions of the Fusion for the 2016 model year, according to Cars Direct, and it comes without the removal of standard equipment. On the contrary, the Energi reportedly gets a new EcoSelect driving mode that activates additional regenerative braking and more gentle acceleration. The $900 pricing adjustment is only for these models and not available on the versions with only an internal combustion engine, which makes it clear Ford wants to tantalize green car buyers towards this pair. According to Cars Direct, the models should go on sale in late 2015. The least expensive 2016 Fusion Hybrid S will retail for $25,675, plus $825 destination on all of them, and a 2016 Energi start at $33,900. Autoblog's own pricing pages for them show the same numbers (here and here). Cars Direct also predicts for the Blue Oval to keep most incentives in place even after the adjustment. Assuming these figures don't change before the sedans actually go on sale, the price cut makes a 2016 Energi less expensive than a 2015 Chevrolet Volt starting at $34,345 (plus $825 destination). The cost of the updated 2016 model for the Chevy isn't announced yet.
2015 Ford Mustang gets pricing, configurator and less weight than expected
Fri, 13 Jun 2014It's here; it's finally here. No more speculating or looking at dealer order guides, the configurator for the 2015 Ford Mustang is finally online. That means you should put down whatever you're doing and build your new 'Stang. Weight data for the new model has also leaked out, and while there is an increase, it's less than previously rumored.
The basic V6 coupe carries a base price of $23,600, plus an additional $825 destination charge for all models. Upgrading to the 2.3-liter Ecoboost costs $25,170, and the Ecoboost Premium is $29,170. If you need a V8 in your life, the Mustang GT is $32,100 or $36,100 with the Premium package. That puts the starting price up about $1,000 over the previous generation for the V6, but the turbocharged four-cylinder starts about $1,400 less than the V6 Premium, which is no longer available. Prices for both V8 models jumped about $1,000, as well.
If you need the convertible Mustang, the V6 starts at $29,100, excluding destination, $1,590 more than last year. The Ecoboost Premium 'vert is $34,670, and the GT droptop is $41,600.
1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper
Thu, 07 Nov 2013Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.
