For auction, 1 farm fresh 1966 for F100 pickup truck,  This truck is a custom cab, long wheelbase truck with a 352 Y-block engine and a (granny low) 4 speed manual trans.  This truck would be a daily driver if I did not have a company pickup truck.  If you are the winning bidder you can pick it up and drive anywhere in the country.  It runs smooth and shifts very smooth.  This truck does not have power steering or brakes but it is still a very easy truck to drive.  Parking lots are a little tough but still do-able.  The exterior was repainted a long time ago and the red and white top have a great patina that gives it the great original look.  The left front fender was damaged when the previous owner forgot to torque the lugs when he rotated the tires himself.  There is a little rust in the floorboards but none in the outer body.  The truck spent 46 years in western Nebraska so it has very little rust.  The interior is in pretty good condition with the exception of the aftermarket seat cover is starting to tear.

I bought this truck with the intention of making it a streetrod.  I just cannot bring myself to alter such a nice old example of a 1966 f100.  It does have emblems and hub caps from a 1969 f100 Ranger that were added somewhere along the way.   Rear marker lights and low mount swing away mirrors and bed rails were also added but could easily be returned to stock.  Add ons look good and have resale value if you go back to original.  This truck is lots of fun and gets lots of looks and comments.  Bid with confidence because this truck has what truck guys want.

Xcar flogs the 2015 Ford Focus ST

Wed, Feb 18 2015

There's an inevitable dilemma that practically every auto fan eventually faces, at least other than Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, and that's the tradeoff of performance, practicality and perhaps most importantly, money. Parking the fabled supercar in the garage might be the wish, but for most folks bigger responsibilities – like a family – just don't allow that dream to be a reality. In the view of XCar Films, this intersection of needs and wants is where vehicles like the latest Ford Focus ST provide a fantastic compromise between exciting driving and everyday practicality. Xcar hops into Ford's recently refreshed European hot hatch to illustrate its abilities as both a hauler for the small family on the move and for the driver who just wants to go. The Blue Oval left the powertrain alone for the ST's update, but sharpened the exterior styling, revised the interior and retuned the front suspension and steering. Being realistic, no one is ever going to get behind the wheel of the Focus ST and mistake it for a Porsche, but that's not really the point. Instead, buyers get to put a smile on their face from time to time and still maintain life's other responsibilities. 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.
