Up for auction is a red Ford F-100 custom cab long bed pickup truck. This truck is in all original condition. Still has the original owners manual in the glove compartment. It has a 300-six cylinder engine that is in great condition. Starts every time and runs great! It has the 3-speed on the column standard shift transmission. This truck runs and drives really good. Recently I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires and coil, just as preventive maintenance. The paint does have some spots that have worn through as seen in the photos. But there are very few minor dents and scratches in the body. This truck looks good as is or could be easily repainted to look even better! The muffler looks original and does have some small holes in it. It will need to be replaced. The tires are about 75% or better, see pics. The inside of the cab is very impressive, it is very clean and looks great! Two original lap seat belts are still there and functional. Everything in the cab works except for the horn. The speedometer, all gauges, warning lights, heater, inside dome light, all exterior lights and turn signals, cigarette lighter, wipers, blower motor, radio, windows, all work. The radio is the only thing that I am aware of that is not original to this truck. Everything else looks to be original! The headliner in the truck looks original, but is sagging, see pics. This truck is being sold as is, so please ask any questions you can if it was not answered in the description. This vehicle is available for local pickup only. Ford readying 2015 F-150 drift truck for SEMA
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Between the Mustangs you'd find in Formula D and the Fiestas in the Global and World rallycross championships, there's no shortage of Ford drift cars on the scene. But at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Blue Oval automaker intends to show off a different kind of drift machine.
Created in collaboration with driftmeister Vaughn Gittin, Jr., this custom F-150 has been designed for "on- and off-road capabilities, as well as drifting and jumping." It's got a suspension with components from Kibbetech King and Air Lift Performance to give it 12 inches of travel and comes packed with 5 Recaro seats. Other details remain limited, but if the rendering above is anything to go by, it ought to be pretty awesome.
Alongside the Gittin truck, Ford will also be showcasing another F-150 designed together with freestyle motorcross rider Brian Deegan, packing the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and a long list of enhancements. Between these two trucks, Ford hopes to extend its winning streak for the Hottest Truck award that it's taken four years running now. Feel free to read more in the press release below.
Ford Recalls '13 Escape For 11th Time
Fri, Aug 15 2014Only in dealer showrooms for two years now, the 2013 Ford Escape has already been recalled for safety hazards 11 times. The most recent recall for the beleaguered vehicle came Friday, when the company announced it was recalling almost 160,000 Escapes and Focus ST hatchbacks from the '13 and '14 model years because of a wiring problem that could cause the engine to stall. Caused by a faulty wiring harness, Ford said the defect could result in reduced power, hesitation or outright stalling. The company said it knew of no crashes or injuries caused by the flaw. Customers affected will be notified by mail. It was the latest problem for a vehicle beset by recalls from the moment it started rolling off the assembly lines. Starting on July 6, 2012, the '13 Escapes have been recalled for an assortment of problems, including multiple hazards with fuel lines that could result in engine fires, fluid leaks in the engine that could also result in fires, problems with engines overheating, delays in airbags deploying and more. Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.
