1966 Ford F250 Crew Cab
This rare Ford F250 Crew Cab also known as a Six Pack back in the 60's came out of Iowa and was used by a company called Higley Construction. It has been highly altered since it showed up at our shop here in Tennessee. We started by converting the now fully boxed chassis to an independent front suspension and a triangulated 4 bar rear. Because of the length of the vehicle we also opted for a two piece drive-shaft to keep from sectioning the floor. The frame has been stepped up in the front and the rear and fully boxed. Also, a set of Firestone air bags were installed at each corner for ride quality. When it came time to pick an air management system to control the suspension we went with the full Accuair setup. This is a self leveling air management system that has direct control of each corner or three preset settings of your choice. Its as easy to program the settings to your liking as it is to set a preset on your radio. It has a 10 gallon air capacity so that you never have to wait on any air pressure, always plenty on demand. Everything has been painted except the exterior of the truck because we liked that it still wore its original paint. Under the hood and inside of the bed were sprayed Wimbledon white for a cleaner look and to give the next owner a jump on an original two tone paint style. The chassis has also been completely painted top to bottom. You can see these details better on the website under the custom projects section along with the rest of the work that was done. The truck rides on a staggered set of 20x8.5'' front and 22x9.5'' rear billet smoothies and Nitto 555 tires. The engine is a stock 302 roller motor with all the goodies and accessories attached to an AOD transmission and 9'' rear. Lokar lines and shifter were used along with an aluminum radiator and fan shroud with electric fans and a billet overflow. Cal custom valve covers, breathers and air cleaner were used to top it off and all of the plumbing was ran with AN fittings. All of the sheet metal work that was in need of repair has been completed and painted. We just cleaned up the interior a little so that the next person could personalize it to their taste. We started with recovering the dash and the seats and adding carpet front to back. The list goes on and on so feel free to come in and see this truck or feel free to give us a call at 615-220-9000 and ask for Brian. We will be happy to scrape the logos off the truck for the winning bidder if he or she chooses. We welcome any third party inspections if you're unable to come see the vehicle before auctions end. I have no idea what the value of this truck is hence the auction format. Please honor this and do not email or call for the reserve price. Bid to own, thanks.

Ford announces four recalls, 1.4M vehicles affected
Thu, 29 May 2014Ford is taking a bit of the spotlight away from General Motors, announcing a major group of recall campaigns, covering a total of 1.4 million vehicles built between 2006 and 2013.
Let's start with the big one, which covers the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and, according to The Detroit News, Ford-built Mazda Tribute CUVs. 915,216 vehicles are covered, all of which were built in model years 2008 to 2011. 736,000 vehicles are in the US, while Canada then Mexico make up the vast majority of the remainder. The problem is due to an issue with the torque sensor in the steering column, which could lead to sudden power steering failure. Manual steering would still be available, though.
"Dealers will perform one of three service fixes, depending upon what diagnostic codes are shown when the vehicle is taken to the dealer," Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker wrote to Autoblog in an email. "They will either update software for the power steering control module and the instrument cluster module; replace the torque sensor; or replace the steering column, which includes upgraded power steering control module software."
Meet Floyd Pullin, 102-year-old honorary president of Ford trucks [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013When we talk about trucks we often talk about how loyal truck owners are; it's men like Floyd Pullin who provide the proof. The 102-year-old man from Confluence, Pennsylvania has only owned Ford products since the 1920s, and he's done so well by Ford Trucks that the division named him honorary president for a day, not long after he took delivery of his latest ride, a 2013 F-150 STX.
That's the 16th Ford he's owned. If he bought his first when he was 16, he'd have flipped into a new car or truck about every five years. For 86 years. Not a bad run of business for either side.
Ford Trucks made a video to wish Pullin a happy birthday, which was celebrated at his local Ford dealership and was visited by a Pennsylvania state senator. You can watch it below.
Ford F-450 claims best-in-class towing, company abandons practice of removing items to boost payload number
Tue, 02 Sep 2014The ongoing heavy-duty truck battle between Ford and Ram is showing no signs of slowing down. The Blue Oval is trying to remove at least one point of contention between the two brands by testing its 2015 F-450 Super Duty using the Society of Automotive Engineers J2807 towing standard, which Ram also uses. In the new evaluation, the F-450 is rated at a max towing capacity of 31,200 pounds. That's an identical amount as under Ford's own, previous test.
"We leave no doubt with customers that the F-450 pickup truck has best-in-class towing of 31,200 pounds - whether tested using our own internal towing standards or SAE J2807," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president for Global Product Development, in the company's release.
At the same time, Ford is also changing how it calculates the F-450's payload. Instead of using its minimum curb weight as before, the brand is now using the truck's base curb weight. The revision lowers the pickup's rating to 5,300 pounds, compared to 5,450 pounds previously. The company said in its announcement that the reason for this is "aligning its payload rating practices with other manufacturers to make it easier for customers to compare vehicles." General Motors made a similar switch for its pickups in August.
