This is my beautiful 1965 Ford F100 up for sale.  Its got the 352ci V8 motor with a 3 speed shift on the column. Strong and reliable drivetrain. Desirable long bed. This is my daily driver, and I frequently cruise at 80 MPH on the highway with no issues whatsoever. She tracks solid and true, and the "Twin I Beam" suspension is buttery. Only 2 things don't work on this vehicle...the cigarette lighter, and the overdrive cable. The battery is 4 months old, spark plug wires are 2 years old, the tires have only 10k on them, and I also replaced the heater core, flow selector valve, and all the heater hoses when I got the truck last fall. The heater was inoperable when I bought it, but it blows super hot now after the replacement parts were put in. Like all old vechicles, she has a bit of a sequence when starting, but once you learn how to use the choke and gas pedal, she fires right up dead cold, even in the middle of winter. This truck has not given me one problem in the year that ive owned her...I've kept her clean, washed her after every bad weather drive,  kept the fluids topped off (uses 1 Qt every 3 weeks)...and every day she gets me where I need to go without fail. (45mi work commute every day) Regretfully I have to sell to accomodate my growing family, but she will make the right person very happy.

There are a few dings in the bed and here and there along the body, but they are very minor. This truck has no rust due to spending it's life on a farm down in NC. The Body is super clean and straight.  I am the 3rd owner and I have all the maintenance records, as well as the original owners manual and window sticker.

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
