First off this truck has NEVER had a title. you didn't have to have one in 1965 when it was bought by my beautiful Wife's, slightly insane, Great Grandfather. I will issue a bill of sale or if the buyer would prefer, I will get the truck titled into my name first, then transfer it to the buyer when it gets here. I was going to go ahead and file for it but then thought that you might like to be the First title holder for this old diamond in the ruff.
It is an 1965 Ford F100, short wheel base, fleet side pick-up truck. This truck has been in the family since it was purchased brand new, in 1965, right here in Corinth, MS by my Wife's Great Grandfather. It has passed down from generation to generation. I am the fourth owner. My Wife's Father passed it on to me three years ago. This is a great running and driving old truck. It has the famous 300 cubic inch Inline 6 cylinder engine. It was "three on the tree" but the shifter lever arm broke, so now it has a universal floor shifter installed. The back window is cracked pretty bad but still intact. The windshield also has a crack. The side/door windows, as well as the corner/vent windows, are all in great shape, however the door windows disengage from the track periodically. The little pieces that hold the window operator arm into the track on the bottom of the window need to be replaced.
I am told that there is Bondo in various places. You can tell on the front fenders, which are both dented. I had several automotive body tech's look at it and they all told me that the fenders should NOT be replaced because they can be beat out. The rear/tail gate has a small dent in the top. but the tailgate functions properly and has the coolest handle I have ever seen. The bed has rust holes in the end closest to the cabin of the truck. There is a small hole in the drivers side floor pan. The rocker panels are solid and in exceptionally good shape. The floor mat will probably need to be replaced. There is some surface rust on the roof of the cab. The headliner has been removed. The outside chrome was taken off of the truck at some point.
The tires were bought brand new about four years ago from a corporate chain tire store and still have 80+/-% tread left on them. The seat is torn but repairable. The truck really needs to be re-wired. everything works, however one of my In-law's tried to "fix" the wiring and now it has been cut and spliced and electrical taped. So, the turn signals work but the indicators on the instrument panel do not work. The horn has been rerouted to a button under the instrument panel. The fuel gauge, the odometer/ speedometer, the temperature gauge, oil and alt lights all work correctly. The choke, wipers, cigarette lighter, head lights, tail lights, brake lights, head light dimmer switch and heater/ fan switch all work correctly. It has a really good heater.
The grille, signal light and tail light trim are all chrome but the bumpers are painted steel. The truck still has the OEM steel rims on it with the chrome accent rings. I had the brakes done but they really need to be replaced on the front passengers side because while changing the brake cylinder on that wheel the technician managed to spill fluid onto the pad, so when it is really hot, I mean Mississippi hot, it will...not stick but hang or drag a little the first times that you apply the brakes. It was supposed to work itself out but it still does it. It just hasn't ever been serious enough an issue for me to try to fix it.
When the truck came into my possession, I had the timing chain and gears replaced, by a certified mechanic, because they were broken. Also, Had the radiator removed, cleaned and re-installed. As well as having the spark-plugs, wires, filters, oil, fluids, distributor and rotor button replaced. The points still looked good so I didn't replace them. The radio does not work. I never thought of it as a necessity. The clutch and throw-out bearing were replaced by my father-in-law. And my wife"s Grandfather says he replaced the carburetor at some point in the past. Grandpa also cut the overload coil springs off of the rear of the truck because he didn't like the way it "rode so stiff".
Long story short, the truck is a daily driver right now but is a great candidate for restoration. The frame is straight and really doesn't have that much surface rust, surprisingly. The drive-train is in great shape. This truck is STRONG. I am pretty sure that the rear-end is a Dana with a 411 gear ratio. That in combination with the 300 6 cylinder engine...you could pull a house with this thing. The truck is, for the most part still all original, except for the spray can paint job, the floor shifter and the re-wiring. The glove box even has the original liner still intact. The old truck still fires right up and runs and drives great.

Ford Focus EV's slow sales trigger massive incentives
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The Detroit News reports Ford is having real trouble moving its new Focus Electric. As a result, the automaker is offering substantial incentives in an attempt to lure in more buyers. How substantial? Try $10,750 off of a three-year lease. What's more, the EV can now be had for $37,995 ($2,000 less than its original base price) on top of an additional $2,000 cash discount to buy the EV outright - or you can opt for 1.9-percent financing if you work through Ford Motor Credit. None of which factors in various potential government incentives. Last year, Ford managed to sell a paltry 685 of the 1,627 Focus EV hatchbacks it built.
Ford isn't alone in trying to woo more buyers to its EV effort. Nissan cut the price of its Leaf by a whopping 18 percent for 2013, now down to $28,800 and built in the USA. The move followed the automaker's substantial incentives in 2012.
If you want a Focus Electric, you can now apparently get your hands on one for as little as $285 per month with $930 due at signing for a 36-month lease with 10,500 miles per year.
Recharge Wrap-up: Ford 1.0L EcoBoost a hit in Europe; Build a tiny inverter, win $1 million
Mon, Aug 11 2014In Europe, Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine is the best-selling turbocharged gasoline engine. The three-cylinder motor powers 20 percent of new Fords sold in Europe. Earlier this year, it won its third International Engine of the Year award, and between January and June, it was sold in about 120,000 cars. So far this year, 38 percent of Fords sold in the Netherlands, 35 percent in Denmark and 32 percent in Switzerland have been powered by the 1.0-liter EcoBoost. The engine's turbocharger spins at 248,000 rpm, and provides 24 psi of pressure. The engine produces up to 138 horsepower, depending on the version. Read more in the press release below. When lithium-ion battery packs are retired from the road, remanufacturing, repurposing, and recycling are worthwhile options, according to a study by Mineta Transportation Institute. The study included a cost-benefit analysis of those three options, and found remanufacturing to be the best route. To get the most out of them, batteries should be tested and have their damaged cells replaced then put back to use. Repurposing is the second best option, using the remaining available charge for something besides cars. Recycling on its own isn't profitable, but it could make economic sense with "increased technological breakthroughs." Learn more at Recycling International or download the report here. A smaller inverter for EVs can win you $1 million. The Little Box Challenge is an open competition to build a power inverter with a density of at least 50 watts per cubic inch. Google and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) are offering the hefty prize to the team that builds the inverter with the highest power density within an enclosed volume of 40 cubic inches. Teams must register by September 30. Read more at Green Car Congress or learn more at the Little Box Challenge website.
And the Top Gear UK Cars of the Year for 2013 are...
Tue, 17 Dec 2013Those loony Brits at Top Gear have named their Car of the Year, and if you're thinking it's the McLaren P1, Jaguar F-Type, Land Rover Range Rover Sport or Rolls-Royce Wraith, we're sorry to inform you that none of those Anglo automobiles earned the crown. In fact, the winner of Top Gear's most prestigious award is quite the surprise.
Of course, those cars weren't without their own awards. The P1 was the top hypercar (sorry, Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari), while the F-Type netted best convertible and the Range Rover Sport was voted SUV of the Year. Other honorable mentions included the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black and S-Class, the Porsche 911 GT3, the BMW i3 and the Ferrari 458 Speciale. The winner, though, wasn't even a high-dollar supercar. It was the Ford Fiesta ST.
Yes, the Fiesta ST beat out some off-the-wall cars like the revolutionary Volkswagen XL1 and the bonkers Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, not to mention all the cars we listed above, to take the title of Top Gear Car of the Year. And if you've driven one, you'll completely understand why.
