Up for sale is my 1964 Ford F100 Short Bed Pick-Up. It has a 1985 ford 302 V8 with a matching 1985 Ford C-5 automatic transmission. It shifts smooth, runs nice and has a list of new parts. I have replaced the distributor cap and rotor, valve covers, valve cover gaskets, transmission pan gaskets, transmission fluid, engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs and wires, it has newer tires with about 75-80% tread left, a new horn, electronic fuel pump, radiator cap, gas cap, battery, battery terminals, and I had a power rack and pinion steering kit from No-Limit Engineering installed, which before labor cost right around $900, and I also had power brakes put on it. The brakes are power drum brakes. I also had it painted when I bought it, which was about 6 or 7 years ago. The paint is not the greatest. There is some paint damage around the gas cap, which you can see in the pictures, the day after I had it painted gas leaked out and it ate through the paint because I parked the truck on a hill after I filled the truck up with gas. It happened 6 years ago, it hasn't gotten worse over time, I replaced the gas cap and the leak was no more. The rubber ring on the inside of the cap was dry rotted.

The paint is the worst thing about the truck. I haven't gotten it repainted because I spent the money to get it painted and I didn't see any reason to go ahead and fork out the money to get it repainted again because of the stupid gas cap. Anyway, I have quite a bit of time and money into my truck and if it sells it sells. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally and if you wish to contact me and you are in the local area and have something you think I might want to trade from the 50's or 60s, give me a ring. 660-909-2907

Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.

Ford announces 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

Ford has pulled the wraps off its anticipated 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition model, a new variant of the popular street-legal off-road specialist. In a nutshell, the "special" is all cosmetic - there are no mechanical upgrades to the truck and its 6.2-liter V8 (411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque), Torsen limited-slip differential, beadlock-capable wheels and internal triple-bypass FOX Racing Shox dampers all remain untouched.
The SVT Raptor Special Edition, which adds cosmetic enhancements to the existing Luxury Package, will be offered in Ruby Red Metallic and Tuxedo Black Metallic with box-side graphics. The interior upgrades include Brick Red seat bolsters (with black inserts), cloth honeycomb highlights and a console top finish panel.
As of now, Ford has only release a couple pictures of the Special Edition model. But check back later, as we will update the gallery when additional high-res images are released later today, and be sure to peruse the press release below for all the details.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.
