I apologize to anyone following the previous listing for this truck, I attempted to make a change to the listing and it got all jacked up.
This is a daily driver, shop truck, head turning Rat Rod. It has rust, dents and dings. It was pulled from a farm a year ago and has been transformed into the wolf in sheeps clothing you see now. I am going to try and give you as much detail about the truck as possible and there is a lot to say. It is a complete mechanical rebuild. The engine is a 289, which has been gone through and a strong runner. It came from a 1967 mustang GT. There were less than 1400 mustangs that year with a 289. We believe this is a K code motor but havent pulled the serial number to check. New oil pump, gaskets, one wire alternator, chrome pulleys, chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner. Rare down turn ehxaust manifold on drivers side. New 600 cfm Holley carb with electric choke. New starter. New starter relay. New spark plugs, wires, points and rotor. New exhaust manifolds. Electric fan Rebuilt 3 speed. New clutch plate, throw out bearing, pressure plate. Billit steel hi performance 164 tooth flywheel and aluminum bell housing. Brand new linkage and shifter boot. Long throw shifter with crystal shifter knob. Brand new dual exhaust with 20" glass packs and turn down dumps in front of rear axle New fuel cell, fuel lines, electric fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, drop fuel gauge, kill switch under the dash Brakes gone through, new brake lines, new master cylinder. Nostalgia Sid's 3" drop front axle with new king pins and tie rods, lowered rear leaf springs to lower the whole body of the truck about 4" with new shocks 15" Red powder coated wheels with 3" white walls up front and 4" white walls in back. The tires still had knobs on them when mounted and less than 100 miles on them. New bullet shaped chrome lug nuts Nice red bench seat with only one small quarter sized tear on drivers side. Comes with indian blanket. Cab floors patched and rhino lined. Liscense plates moulded inside door step. Bed of truck is rhino lined. New windshield and rear glass. Gaskets were replaced when installed. I am sure i am leaving out a few other things we did, but that is the lions share of the rebuild. Many many many hours went into building this truck.
Leagal Mumbo Jumbo: This is a 50 year old truck, I have described it as accurately as possible. I can tell you the vehicle starts, go's and stops as it should, but I cannot tell you it will make a many mile trip to anywhere. The vehicle is "As is, Where is" Please ask any and all questions before bidding. $750 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction ending through PayPal. Balance due within 72 hours of deposit by cash, cashier's check, or PayPal. If you choose to pay balance through PayPal Buyer will cover any fees issued to the seller. Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator
Wed, Nov 8 2017General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:
RWD Lincolns are coming, fate depends partly on MKZ success
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The product portfolio at Lincoln may seem a bit sparse at the moment, but if a report is to be believed, new products are on the way. TheDetroitBureau.com spoke with sources at Lincoln and Ford, who claimed the American premium brand is working on, perhaps more than one, rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
Lincoln would likely platform-share with the next-generation Ford Mustang to develop those RWD offerings in the early going. Moving forward, the report indicates that Lincoln could take the lead on other rear-drive projects in the future. As the RWD architecture continues to take shape, "most or all" of the front-wheel-drive portfolio will also be offered with all-wheel drive as an option, ala Audi.
But wait, there's more! The report also suggests that a replacement for the full-size MKS is on the way, as well as a new Navigator and a luxury crossover based on the current Ford Escape.
Ford, Samsung shack up to bring regen braking to non-hybrid models [w/video]
Mon, 09 Jun 2014Ford must be desperate to get itself ready for the beach this summer because it is really trying to get into shape. Shortly after unveiling the Lightweight Concept that cut the weight of a Fusion down to that of a Fiesta, it's now the rest of the line's turn for improvement. The company is wrapping up a 10-year research project aimed at developing next-gen automotive batteries to improve efficiency.
Ford claims that 70 percent of its lineup will have stop/start tech by 2017. The key to this massive proliferation is its new dual-battery system that combines a lithium-ion battery with a lead-acid one and regenerative braking. The setup works by harvesting braking energy and converting it to electricity. When the vehicle stops, the engine shuts off, but the Li-ion battery has enough juice to keep the accessories running. The engine starts up again as drivers take their foot off the brake. The layout would mean less wasted gas while idling. It's already available on Ford hybrids and is somewhat similar to the i-Eloop capacitor-based system from Mazda.
The bigger challenge is tuning the regenerative braking right. While hybrid drivers may be a little more adventurous, when it comes to getting a hang of regen braking, conventional buyers might not be so open-minded. The systems have a tendency to be a little grabby at first and then taper off at very low speeds. Ford needs to make sure it's just right to avoid turning off buyers.
