No reserve. 1964 Ford F100

I bought this truck from the original family owners. From Idaho. Super solid. Runs great for the age. I have owned it for 2 years. If I had the time or endless storage, it wouldn't leave. But I have to let it go.

The bad:

Few dings,10 year old restoration. Cab corners have had some work done, paint close but doesn't match. Slight bubbling at roof, see pictures.Inside of bed- slight dents. Minor oil leaks, no puddles. Horn ring doesn't work, previous owner rewired to button on dash. Wasn't fused so I rewired. Manual everything, drives like a truck, it is one. Not original rear bumper. Not perfect by any means, but a super solid survivor.

The good:

I repainted the floor boards... very solid, only surface rust. New carpet. seat very nice, some original upholstery. Nice shine to paint. New turn signal cam. Runs, shifts, drives great. Chrome in  very nice shape. Some dings in side trim, but otherwise really nice. This truck gets loads of attention, because you don't see very many unaltered this nice. The wheels aren't my first choice, but they came on the truck. I have the original wheels and hubcaps, go with, need paint. I need to dismount the bias belt tires on them. They're junk.

The truck is for sale locally, but I don't plan on ending auction early, without contacting highest bidder.

Now the legal mumbo jumbo. Do not bid without contacting me if you have negative or less than 5 feedbacks. No deposit required, But payment must be made within 5 business days, unless arrangements made. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.  You can contact me at (309) 781- 2406. Thanks, Chris.

On Jun-03-13 at 16:37:04 PDT, seller added the following information:

I guess there was some confusion on what I put in the description, the tires on the truck are in very good shape. The ones on the original rims are not.

Sorry I didn't show a picture of the inside of the bed. It has a few slight dings and dents painted over, but overall good shape. There are no bubbles or rust on the truck, except for the roof rail which is because of poor prep on the older paint job, see the picture.

If there are any questions, please ask. I know I have forgot something. Its been a while, but I have sold 3 cars on ebay, and the main comment was I too honest on flaws. I have 100% feedback and I  want to keep it that way.

Shelby Cobra, Mercedes 300SL and 1947 Woodie from Petersen Museum headed to auction

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

The changes happening at the Petersen Museum have been making the rounds in major press, but it probably won't be until August 18, during Pebble Beach, when we get the full story on what's happening; that's where and when museum reps plan on announcing the way forward for the SoCal institution. In the meantime, the museum is still reorganizing its collection, and that means auctioning some of its showpieces at this weekend's Auctions America event in Burbank.
Three of the stars are a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, one of less than 20 produced with a three-speed C-4 automatic transmission, a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL owned by actor Robert Stack and the last 1948 Ford Sportsman 'Woodie' ever produced. The Cobra, now restored to its original white exterior and red leather interior, was a factory demonstrator that first sold for $5,250. Showing just 38,950 miles on the odometer, its pre-sale estimate is $800,000 to $1 million.
The 300SL is actually a 1957 model but wasn't titled until Robert Stack took possession in 1960. The lead actor in the The Untouchables TV series used to drive by the Sunset Boulevard Mercedes dealership to ogle the car, but couldn't justify spending the money to buy it. When he and the producer of The Untouchables won Emmys for the show, the producer, who happened to be Desi Arnaz, bought the car for Stack. He owned it his whole life, it has been left as Stack drove it and still bears the California license plate "UNTCHBL."

New York Mets outfielder turns spring training into his personal car show

Wed, Feb 24 2016

New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is known for his wide range of talents. He can hit for power, average, has good speed, and is solid in the field. His car collection is equally versatile and diverse, and it's been on display this week at spring training. Every day has brought a different car, and it has his teammates and the media atwitter. Cespedes rolled up Wednesday to the Mets facility in Port St. Lucie in a Lamborghini Aventador. It's black with blue trim. Anthony DiComo with MLB.com tweeted this: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. ESPN's Darren Rovell tweeted the Lambo has a custom exhaust that cost $80,000 and shoots out flames. Of course, that's already old news. His Alfa Romeo showed up today, too. Apparently Mets infielder Wilmer Flores has been driving it. That's an ultra-rare 8C Competizione, brought to you by Robert Brender of SNY.TV. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The Italian delights are stunning, but his Tuesday arrival was arguably the craziest: a Polaris Slingshot. DiComo captured this. It's customized with gaudy wire wheels, red accents, and Cespedes' No. 52 on the hood. Subtle. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Only in this fleet would Monday's ride appear pedestrian. It was 'only' an F-250. It was raised on huge wheels, had a custom grille, and towered over that Maserati behind it. Jon Santucci of Scripps newspapers observed it. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. At this rate, we should probably skip Geneva and get credentialed for Mets spring training. Cespedes signed a three-year $75-million contract with the Mets in the off-season. He's also played for the Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, and Detroit Tigers. Related Video: Image Credit: Getty Images Celebrities Design/Style Ford Lamborghini Performance baseball

First Ford Mustang prototype shots caught by legendary spy shooter Jim Dunne

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

You know how people refer to someone as having "been around the block" to mean they're very experienced? Well, when it comes to automotive spy photography, Jim Dunne actually laid down the concrete slabs of the block's sidewalk. The unforgettable Dunne more or less invented the car spy game - a fact he cemented by writing book called Car Spy - and has been delivering spy shots and reporting on the industry for some 45 years now. (He also once employed this writer as his impromptu personal chauffer on a Volkswagen trip in Germany, while he slept, but that's a story for a different time.)
In any event, Dunne must be on a mission to prove that "elder statesman" doesn't also mean "washed up" as it is his shots of the upcoming new 2014 Ford Mustang that we've been handed by our friends at KGP Photography.
Mr. Dunne has likely spent the last few years obtaining powerful telescopic lenses, as the Ford in question has clearly been photographed from some distance. Nevertheless, what you see here is visual evidence that the sixth-generation Mustang has moved beyond the mule stage, and is now testing in proper prototype form. Sources indicate that there are production-spec body panels under that baggy canvass dress; but the slightly less bulky silhouette of the new car can be just made out. While the car's bumpers have been removed to obfuscate things, we can tell by way of the camo's apertures that the car's taillights have moved upwards and towards the lip of the tail. A fender vent appears to be visible, too, just behind the front wheel.
