Dana Point, California, United States
1964 FORD CUSTOM CAB TRUCKTWO TONE WHITE/ BABY BLUE292Y blockACMeet a member of my family. My Dad's father in law bought this truck new in Santa Crews, CA., my Dad bought it from him restored it and left it to me. My father was a art director for the movie studios in Hollywood, he was a race car and motorcycle driver and restorer of antique racers etc. W.S. Campbell (Google) The apple does not fall far from the tree with me. I have a new project that requires the $$$$, space and time that this fine truck will provide so let the bidding begin.I have many pictures and many memories of this truck. I would not hesitate to drive this Ford across country. However, that is if you know the year and model like I do, roll up window, you have to push the clutch peddle. It likes to run around 70 on the freeway and aprob. 2,000 rpm. It has a but-load of power!THIS TRUCK IS 60 years old! It has 3 on the tree (3 speed) with the hard to find OD (over drive). I think that means it has 5 or 6 speeds, I have found that it has OD in 2nd and 3rd but it may also have it in first? The engine is a 292 intercepter Y block with all the T-bird complements, including the valve covers, Impossible to find rams horn exhaust manifolds. It has the Capt. treasure chest tool box on the right side, tow from front and back, AC but has never been hooked up (nice to live in Ca.) a cassette deck, the original AM tube type radio (works after the tubes warm up, haha). 8 foot bed, with Ryno-liner. The truck had a body off restoration maybe 20 yrs ago by my Dad, he did everything and he did it right which is why it looks like it's ready to enter a car show. I hate to sell it but new projects and a car for my daughter means, bye bye for Daisy. I am sure that I am forgetting many things and will add them as the auction progresses.NOW THE RULES,PLEASE, ASK ALL QUESTIONS YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU BID!TRUCK IS FOR SALE, AS IS WHERE IS, here in Dana Point, CA. USA. IT IS UP TO YOU TO RELOCATE. (yes I may help). I can store for 2 weeks but than I will charge if longer.LOOK AT MY NICE CLEAR PICTURES. I TAKE THEM SO THAT THERE ARE NO SURPRISES. See my feed back24 hrs deposit $1,000.00, 3 days to communicate, 5 days to pay in full.INTERNATIONAL BUYERS ARE OK, BUT I WILL NOT RELEASE THIS TRUCK UNTIL ALL FUNDS HAVE CLEARED, CASH IN HAND.ALL CUSTOMS, TAXES, ETC. Next Shelby Mustang to wear GT350 nameplate
Fri, 21 Jun 2013Earlier this month, rumors started to swirl 'round the web about the next-generation Ford SVT Mustang - the halo version of the all-new 2015 'Stang seen testing in the gallery above. Originally, we heard that the Shelby GT500 moniker would be dumped in favor of "a name you're familiar with," which some sources guessed could mean a return of the Cobra nameplate.
That might not be correct. According to Road & Track, citing a report from Mustangs Daily, the new range-topping Mustang will bring back the Shelby GT350 name - currently used on an aftermarket version of Ford's Pony produced by Shelby American (take a look at our recent Quick Spin of that car). Expect the new GT350 to be quite a bit different than the current GT500 - it will be all motor, using a V8 that's derived from the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote engine (though it will no doubt have a higher displacement). The GT350 will be a lot more powerful than the next Mustang GT, which is expected to offer something like 450 horsepower, but won't be quite as absurd as the 662-horsepower GT500 we currently enjoy.
The Shelby GT350 will reportedly bow with the rest of the new Mustang range at the 2014 New York Auto Show, which coincides exactly with the original Mustang's debut at the New York World's Fair in 1964. If that seems far out, don't worry, we'll be seeing the rest of the 2015 Mustang range before then, but Road & Track reports that the 2014 Detroit Auto Show stage will be reserved for the reveal of the next Ford F-150 pickup.
How Ford secretly used customers to test its aluminum F-150 [w/video]
Fri, 30 May 2014Automakers getting clever about disguising development vehicles isn't anything new. Between mules wearing the sheetmetal of other cars and prototypes decked out in as much camouflage as is practical, automakers know how to make it very difficult for the general public to get an exact idea of what kind of vehicle is in development. Ford, though, is rapidly becoming the master.
We knew that the Blue Oval originally tested the durability of the aluminum construction being used for the 2015 F-150 by building an all-aluminum 2014 truck and entering it in the Baja 1000 off-road race. That's no longer a secret. What we didn't know, though, is that the aluminum development dates back to before even that, and that some of the people in question had no idea what it was they were working with.
Ford says this is the first time prototypes have ever been handed over to the public.
Blue Oval's new Cargo cab-over rig is largest "One Ford" initiative yet
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The imposing commercial truck above has a feature that might be surprising to most Autoblog readers - a Blue Oval emblem on the front. Here in North America, Ford simply doesn't play in the eighteen-wheeler sandbox, but that doesn't mean that the Dearborn-based automaker is absent in the heavy hauling space in other parts of the globe. In fact, Ford presently fields two completely different big rig ranges under the Cargo moniker - one a product of an Eastern Europe/Turkey joint venture, and another from Brazil. But that's about to start changing with the advent of this new cab-over model seen here.
Unveiled in São Paulo, Brazil, this new generation of Cargo is perhaps the largest physical embodiment of CEO Alan Mulally's "One Ford" global streamlining strategy. Instead of multiple models, company engineers have developed a new single truck that it says will better meet the needs of truckers in all markets. Designed to compete in what's known as the "extra heavy-duty segment" elsewhere in the world, this Cargo was developed jointly by Ford engineering teams in Brazil, Turkey and Europe.
Specifics remain hard to come by (read: unreleased), but Ford is promising an all-new engine enabling hauling capability of up to 56 tons while still returning excellent fuel economy. Ford's global Cargo lineup will henceforth consist of a dozen models, but Ford tells Autoblog has no plans to bring this hot and heavy-duty action to North America.
