1962 Ford F100 Custom cab, this is an original Southern California one truck that has no rust issues, it is very straight with excellent panel fit, it has never sustained any damage and carries its original paint with the acceptation of the top half of the cab that was painted a few years ago. The bed of the truck is lined and was used to pull some vintage motorcycles, years back it had acamper shell on it. The interior of the truck is stock and in good condition, there is an aftermarket vintage tach. The original 292 CU IN motor runs very well with no leaks, no smoking and the car has a new dual exhaust that runs out of each side of the truck, the muffler is a flow master. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts nice and 1st gear has a lot of torque. Originaly this was a three on the tree. Wider Wheels were put on the truck and new Radial tires, the stock wheels and smaller tires will come with the truck. There is a hitch and some extra lights on the rear of the bumper. A nice original truck that will give the new owner many more years of enjoyment.

This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like

Sat, 12 Oct 2013

Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
