You are looking at a way cool 1956 Ford F100 "Effie". This truck is very fun to drive and drive it I do. I bought it not long ago to have something to drive while I work on my 1950 Austin Devon Streetrod. But now the cash I need to finish my Austin is tied up in this truck. I was fine with that in the begining, but now, not so much. If it doesn't sell, my busy time this spring will generate the needed revenues to finish the Austin, but I'd just as soon finish the Austin over the winter instead of next summer.

This truck has the Volare front and rear, disc and drum (I will still get someone asking that which I just answered), they are power brakes. It has a Chevy 350/350 combo as well. It runs cool and runs very good. Stops as it should and takes off with gusto, but I'm a cruiser so it hasn't been abused. I didn't build it and have done very little since buying it. I added peep mirrors, the babymoons, and a little red paint here and there. The rockers are solid (see pics), the bed is excellent (see pics), the body is well, cool (see pics). All the lights, turn signals, brake, high and low beams work. The heater is very good, so drive to the late season stuff in comfort. The gas tank has not been moved, I would do that eventually for more cab room. It has some gauges in it but they are hard to read. No gas gauge, and no speedo cable (I use my GPS for speed), No wipers (Rain-X) and the ciggy but lighter works. It has tilt wheel, am/fm CD, and you see that odd green running board, it doesn't really go on this year truck, BUT I have the correct one in great shape to replace it. Questions? Seven-Six-Five, Nine-Nine-Four, Zero-Four-Eight-One Text or Call, after 6pm EST.

Tires are in excellent condition, all glass intact and great except for a small crack in drivers vent glass. It is what it is, a cool truck that you can drive, do some rattle can paint trick to, of use it for the base for some high dollar trophy hunting "look at me" thangy. Whatever floats thou boat....Thanks for checking out my listing. I'm on the Indiana/Ohio line about and hour north of Cincinnati, come check it out if you'd like. Thanks again, John

Sorry, I can't use any trades, and no I didn't do a "But it now" because that's when they get cha $$$. Phone number is above or shoot me an email thru the "Send Seller a Message". Auction could end early and you know why, don't you.....

PS. If you are as frustrated about eBay's new search mode in eBay Motors as much as I do, scroll down on your home screen and hit "share your thoughts" (or whatever it says), what a feaking joke!!!! You should NEVER let anyone who doesn't acually use your product DESIGN it!!!! Clearly these compu-file yeahoos only shop for specific iPhones and not cars, unless it a ^%$$ Prius.

On Oct-29-13 at 06:51:59 PDT, seller added the following information:

I had a question from a watcher/looker/potential bidder that took the time to read the description and look carefully at the pics, he asked about power steering. YES, it does have power steering. Great question, my oversight for leaving it out.

As of this moment 9:48am EST 10/29/13  80 Watchers and rising.....

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

Sat, Jan 21 2023

Ford's now-defunct Mercury Division first began using the Marquis name in 1967, on a sporty full-size hardtop based on the Ford LTD, then began offering the Grand Marquis beginning in the 1979 model year. These big, boxy luxury sedans were replaced by big, curvy luxury sedans (on the same platform) starting with the 1992 model year, so today's Junkyard Gem is one of the very last squared-off Grand Marquises ever built. The 1991 Grand Marquis (or "Grandma Keith," as many refer to it today) looks nearly identical to its 1979 predecessor at a glance, just as the 2011 model doesn't differ much from the 1992 model. Ford saw no reason to follow short-lived fashion trends with its simple, sturdy rear-wheel-drive sedan. Only two Grand Marquis trim levels were available for 1991: the base GS and the (somewhat) upscale LS. The former listed at $18,741 and the latter at $19,241, which comes to about $41,494 and $42,601, respectively, in inflated 2022 dollars). This interior would have seemed comfortingly familiar to a 1968 (or even 1958) Mercury owner time-traveling to 1991.  This is the optional "full grain leather seating surface," which cost an extra $489 (about $1,083 today). Dig those opera lights! Air conditioning was standard equipment in the 1991 Grand Marquis and its wagon counterpart, the Colony Park. The engine is the good old pushrod 5.0-liter Windsor V8, which would be replaced by a far more modern 4.6-liter SOHC mill in the '92 Grand Marquis. This engine was rated at 180 horsepower. A four-speed automatic was the only transmission available. The early 1990s ended up being the last gasp for padded vinyl roofs being considered mainstream equipment on new Detroit cars; this one was called the "Formal Coach" roof and cost an additional 725 bucks ($1,605 now). Such roofs were still available on a few cars later in the decade, but their time had passed. Why would such a clean Grandma Keith end up in a place like this? That's easy: it got T-boned directly into the right front wheel, mangling the body and bending up the suspension. This damage might have been worth fixing when the car was five years old, but it's a write-off when it happens to a 31-year-old Ford Panther. 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis Commercial - Savings Ad The granddaddy of them all, and on sale in South Texas! Ford director says company has big efficiency plans, but no dedicated EV

Wed, Mar 12 2014

The annual autofest known as the North American International Auto Show previews a plethora of exciting new products that we'll see and drive later in the year, from tiny urban commuters to family sedans and crossovers to hard-working big pickups and SUVs. It's also a once-a-year cornucopia of auto executives and leaders from around the world. "There will be some really fun stuff that you'll hear about in the future" - Ford's Kevin Layden So, in-between dozens of cool new-product unveilings on rotating stages during the two press days preceding the public show, we auto scribes grab what planned and impromptu interviews we can. Sessions with top industry leaders can be hard to get, but I was able to score a seat in a group session with then-General Motors North America president (now executive VP of global product development) Mark Reuss, and I also managed brief one-on-ones with a trio of vehicle electrification leaders, one each from Ford, BMW and GM, and what they said then remains relevant now. First up is Kevin Layden, Ford's Director of Electrified Powertrain Engineering. ABG: Where will Ford go beyond its current Focus EV and hybrids, and will there be a Ford EV and/or hybrid on its own energy-optimized platform one day. KL: We don't want to do a dedicated electric vehicle with all the development costs borne by a niche product. At the Michigan Assembly plant right now we're building the Focus electric, PHEV and EcoBoost on the same assembly line. Also the C-Max, with both a hybrid and an Energi plug-in, and we use that same power pack in the Fusion Hybrid and Energi. We want to be, "The power of choice" [a Ford marketing slogan], so having that choice for customers is very important. And if I want to sell the Fusion, Focus and C-Max globally, we can use these power packs wherever it makes sense. So as we go forward, you'll see us proliferating the power packs we have today. Then the question is, what do we do next? There will be some really fun stuff that you'll hear about in the future. ABG: Is the efficiency difference between a dedicated ultra-efficient vehicle platform and a shared multi-use platform getting smaller as all platforms get more efficient? KL: Exactly. Were going through aero studies now on wheels and tires and hood sealers on base vehicles. We have full aerodynamic wind tunnel studies going on with the base Focus and C-Max, so all of that [aerodynamic improvement] will be there for EVs.

Ford looks to protect logo from Toronto mayor followers

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

One is a member of the Detroit Three and the maker of the Mustang, Fusion, Explorer and F-150. The other is an admitted loudmouthed, drunk-driving, crack-smoking mayor in Canada. Unfortunately for one, it shares its name with the other. Yes, Ford Motor Company is going to great lengths to keep its iconic Blue Oval logo from being appropriated by supporters of besieged Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
At a United Way event earlier this week, some of Mayor Ford's fans showed up with shirts that featured the automaker's logo with the words "Ford Nation," on them. Naturally, Mayor Ford signed them. FoMoCo was quick to issue an unhappy statement:
"Ford did not grant permission for use of its logo. We view it as an unauthorized use of our trademark and have asked it to be stopped," spokesperson Jay Cooney said. There was also a statement from Ford of Canada's Twitter account after a user alerted the company:
