This is a very stylish 1956 Ford F-100. This truck is hot off the press, having just completed an extremely meticulous frame-off restoration. This body is amazingly straight and the alignment is superb. The exterior finish is a DuPont Crimson Splash, base coat clear coat. The custom airbrush work adds enormous detail. The motor is a GM Goodwrench crate 350, four bolt main, with rebuilt Vortec heads, highrise intake, and Holley Street Avenger 670 carburetor. The frame has been totally boxed and it has a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission, a Ford 9” big bearing rear end, narrowed 3” each side, with 3.05 gears, and Heidts 4 link rear suspension. The front suspension is a Heidts Mustang II with power rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, and Vintage style air system with heat, cool, and defrost. Under the hood is detailed for show with lots of chrome or polished parts including the Billet aluminum pulleys and accessory drive system, chrome alternator, chrome air compressor, chrome power steering pump, and new aluminum radiator with Billet overflow tank. Not a detail has been overlooked on this intense project. The interior is phenomenal. The new two toned seat and matching door panels with Billet handles and hardware look awesome. The custom valence for the air vents, leather headliner, chrome tilt steering column with Billet wheel, and digital gauges all pull together for a great look and feel of comfort. Inside the bed is a perfect example of the overall quality of this vehicle. The new oak hardwood floor with chrome strips is simply fascinating. The tailgate latches have been positioned inside the gate for a slick look. The underneath is properly finished with new dual exhaust, Thrush mufflers, and new suspension front and back. All of the glass and chrome is flawless. The lights, bezels, and bulbs are all new. The final touch of detail to the exterior are the new 15”x8” Wheel Vintiques with wide white B.F. Goodrich radial tires. This creates an old school look combined with many modern features. You will love the way this truck runs and drives. Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

2015 Ford Mustang: Obsessively covered [w/videos + poll]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

Here at Autoblog, we've officially stamped December 5, 2013, as Ford Mustang Day. Sure, the sixth-generation Pony Car started leaking out onto the web days ago, but all of the official, non-embargoed hotness has come out today. And man, there's been a lot.
In terms of new car debuts, this is a really big one - not unlike all of the Corvette madness that kicked off the 2013 automotive season. So to make sure you haven't missed anything, here's a wrap-up of everything you need to know about the 2015 Ford Mustang.

2013 Shelby GT350

Fri, 31 May 2013

Shelby is a name as synonymous with the Ford Mustang as marshmallows are with campfires. But unlike the short-lived sugary confection that is prepared on a stick, the late Carroll Shelby's name on the placard means added performance and exclusivity. Launched in 1965, the automaker's celebrated early cars were in production for a limited run - today, a mint concours-quality 1965 Shelby GT350 can sell for upwards of $350,000.
To coincide with the 45th anniversary of the original Shelby GT350, Shelby American reintroduced the GT350 in 2011. Like the original, it was only offered in white with blue stripes. Customers were offered a choice between naturally aspirated (440 horsepower) and two levels of supercharging (525 horsepower with a warranty or 624 horsepower without). The manufacturer calls the GT350 a "post-title" package, a term that means it starts out life as a stock Mustang and is modified outside Ford's factory (this is in contrast to the Shelby GT500, which is a standard Ford production car).
As the GT350 enters its third year, Shelby has made several changes. Mechanically, Wilwood brakes replace Baer units and Recaro seats and a tinted glass roof are on the options list. Cosmetically, the vehicle is now offered in most of the Blue Oval's factory colors, new multispoke wheels are available in Satin Black or Bright Silver Metallic finish, and customers can choose between Satin Black, Silver or Gloss White stripes (or Azure Blue Metallic on Performance White or Ingot Silver). Aesthetically, the look of the car has also changed somewhat - keen eyes will note that it actually appears more 'stock' than it did last year.
