1955 Ford Truck F-100 Custom Cab on 2040-cars
Acworth, Georgia, United States
1955 Ford F-100 Custom Cab This is a Georgia truck that has been parked for 10 years now, and was kept inside, and has a very nice solid body with one small rust spot that is in the bottom seal where the door closes on the drivers side, and the very bottom of the head board panel where the wood goes in the bed. The drivers side post has a split in the metal that just needs to be welded, and smoothed up. Floor boards inside the cab, cab corners, bed, fenders, hood are all in great condition with only a couple of dents on the front fenders. It has a tilt wheel with a power steering gear box, but the power steering pump on the engine is missing. I'm not sure if they ever had the power steering working on it just the power steering box. It does steer easy like it is. Frame is original, and has not been sectioned as it still has the original front axle under it. I was told that it has a 390 engine in it with a automatic transmission, and ford 9" rear end. If you would like me to check any numbers on the running gear to confirm this I would be happen to do so. The data plate is missing on the glove box lid, but I know where you can get these, and they will stamp your info on it. The vin# is on the frame (see photo) of the vin#. I have not tried to crank the engine so I don't know the condition of it. The truck has some extra leaf springs in the rear that would be easy to remove if you wanted to. The front has air shocks on it that I aired up, and when I did the plastic fitting to the air line broke off so I wasn't able to kept them aired up. Glass is good except the back glass has a crack. Tires look to be in good condition. Over all this is a good project truck with a low reserve. Georgia was a none title state in 1955, so they want give me a title for it so it is being sold on a bill of sale only. If you have any questions you can contact me at 404-867-3163 cell Thanks Terry |

Ford pits The Stig against Gran Turismo 6 in Focus ST Goodwood run
Thu, 03 Jul 2014The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world great automotive gatherings. So, it was the perfect event for Ford to give the refreshed 2015 Focus ST its world debut in front of a loving public. It even surprised us with a new diesel-powered version, as well.
The Blue Oval really put its focus on making the ST a better driver for this refresh. It left its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder alone to still pump out a respectable 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The changes like a retuned front suspension, electric power steering and improved interior made the hot hatch an even better place to spend time behind the wheel.
To prove that the Focus ST is still as potent as ever, Ford set up a one-on-one race up the Goodwood Hill. But instead of putting the two cars side-by-side, former Stig from Top Gear UK, Ben Collins, piloted the real model up the course, and his rival drove the virtual version in Gran Turismo 6. The two hot hatches set off at the same time to see whether reality could beat the virtual world, and the finish was actually extremely close. Scroll down to watch the video and find out the winner of this battle at Goodwood.
Ford Transit customs ready to work for SEMA
Fri, 31 Oct 2014Ford's booth at the SEMA Show this year looks to have two, big themes. The Blue Oval is bringing over a dozen takes on the 2015 Mustang to the event, and it's now also announcing five customized versions on the 2015 Transit to join the modded pony cars. Each of the vans shows off a different use for the spacious commercial vehicle, from plush luxury to offroad ruggedness.
You probably don't think of the Transit as hitting the trails, but that's just what the take on the design from the Vegas Off-Road Experience (pictured above) is for. The company gives people the opportunity to drive a desert race truck, and this custom is meant to drive them to events. It should be able to take on the terrain a little better with off-road wheels and tires and fender flares, but inside passengers get serious luxury thanks to a 60-inch LED TV and video game systems.
Alternatively the blazing red Designed Travel Transit (right) is all about long road trips. The interior features four captain's chairs with heating, cooling and massage functions, and there's a 4K 50-inch TV to watch. For a touch of added class, the floor is made from hickory.
Ford sells 7-millionth Explorer in America
Mon, 17 Nov 2014Say what you will about the evolution of the Ford Explorer, from roofed Ranger to body-on-frame sport utility vehicle to unibody crossover - the bottom line is that it's been a tremendously successful model for Ford. In fact, the Blue Oval automaker has sold seven million Explorer models in the United States alone.
The milestone, marked nearly a quarter-century after the introduction of the original in 1990, comes on the eve of the introduction of a new Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. We don't yet know how the new Explorer will shape up, but we're mere days away from finding out.
Now heading into its sixth generation, the Explorer has formed the basis of Ford's utility lineup for over two decades. The Explorer landed on the market right around the time that the Bronco was trailing off, predating the company's expansion into larger SUVs like the Expedition and Excursion and crossovers like the Escape, Edge and Flex.
