You are bidding on a 1953 Ford F100 pick-up. This truck is an every day driver and is driven regularly. Running condition is very good. The original 6 cylinder inline engine runs great and has recently been tuned up. The original oil bath air cleaner is still in use. The carburetor was recently rebuilt and a new fuel pump was installed. The side pan and valve cover gaskets were replaced recently as well. The entire brake system was recently replaced as well, including new master cylinder, new brake lines and new wheel cylinders. The windshield is new as well. The wood in the bed has been replaced in the last two years and it was coated with wood treatment to keep it from rotting. The tires are in good condition with plenty of miles left on them. The paint is several years old and is not original. There are plenty of scratches and nicks in the paint, especially in the bed as this truck is used as an every day driver. The dash has all of the gauges but newer aftermarket gauges have been installed for more accuracy. The interior has been replaced as the pics show and it is in excellent condition with the exception of one tear on the drivers side of the bench seat(see the pictures). I have a asking price but will accept a reasonable offer for less, but please, REASONABLE OFFERS ONLY! Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research

Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
