1953 Ford F-100 short bed pickup. Was taken down to bare frame (see frame pictures). Has good running stock Flathead V8 and truck 4 speed transmission. Has many new parts including: water pumps, electric fuel pump, tail lights, side hood emblems, Grille V8 emblem, head light trim rings, FORD "step plates", shocks, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, filler neck grommet and gas cap. Brakes have been rebuilt and work fine as does E-Brake! This is FORD's 50th anniversary truck. Body panels are all very good and all glass is good except rear window is cracked and windshield has wiper marks. Excellent stock grille! Stock seat and centerline 16 inch wheels. Truck is currently in blue primer sealer. New plywood bed floor. Needs boomerang side hood emblems. I also will include the stock heater which is not yet mounted in truck. Lights work but will require additional wiring installed (gauges, etc.). This is a very nice rare 53 Ford with the original "FLATHEAD V8". Truck is located in Fresno, CA. Ford set to target pre-school market with next F-150 variant
Tue, Jun 17 2014How do you build a strong group of loyalists from the next generation of American drivers? You start em' young. Ford has taken that lesson to heart, as we can see in the first batch of images of the company's new entry to the pre-school market, the Power Wheels F-150. This particular example was caught returning from testing around Ford's base of operations in Dearborn, MI – covered in tiny little bits of camouflage, too. Now, this could very well end up being a collaboration between Power Wheels and Ford. Then again, it could just be some bored engineers that decided to troll the local congregation of spy photographers, who earlier today captured images of the next Focus RS and SVT Mustang. Ford posts record pre-tax Q3 profit of $2.6B
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Ford took in $2.6 billion in pre-tax profits in the third quarter of the year, making for a record trio of months that saw the Blue Oval's year-over-year earnings increase by $426 million. The earnings are being attributed not just to improvements in North American sales, but sales around the globe.
Revenue was up 12 percent, to $36 billion, although net income took a hit, dropping $359 million to $1.3 billion. Ford was dinged with $498 million in pre-tax charges, which are being blamed for the drop in net income.
The news has boosted Ford's hopes for full-year results, bumping it's total profits up past $8 billion, according to Automotive News. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer is still expecting a loss in Europe, although it's forecasted less than the $1.73 billion it burned in 2012. In fact, according to CFO Bob Shanks, Ford's European losses dropped by 51 percent year-over year, a huge improvement for the brand.
Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues
Fri, 09 May 2014Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.
