1953 Ford F-100 short bed pickup. Was taken down to bare frame (see frame pictures). Has good running stock Flathead V8 and truck 4 speed transmission. Has many new parts including: water pumps, electric fuel pump, tail lights, side hood emblems, Grille V8 emblem, head light trim rings, FORD "step plates", shocks, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, filler neck grommet and gas cap. Brakes have been rebuilt and work fine as does E-Brake!

This is FORD's 50th anniversary truck. Body panels are all very good and all glass is good except rear window is cracked and windshield has wiper marks. Excellent stock grille! Stock seat and centerline 16 inch wheels. Truck is currently in blue primer sealer. New plywood bed floor. Needs boomerang side hood emblems. I also will include the stock heater which is not yet mounted in truck. Lights work but will require additional wiring installed (gauges, etc.). This is a very nice rare 53 Ford with the original "FLATHEAD V8". Truck is located in Fresno, CA. I reserve the right to end the auction early as truck is for sale locally. Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup

Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.

Mercury rises around sexy Cougar pack

With a slightly larger body and a more luxurious interior, the Mercury Cougar doesn't carry quite as much cachet among pony car enthusiasts as the venerable Ford Mustang. But don't try to make that argument around Cougar super-fan Mike Brown. Since starting his Cougar collecting in 1988, Brown has become an absolute expert on the model, and he claims to have owned 400 of the Mercury pony cars in that time. Ten of them are in his collection today, not to mention a heap of spare parts in the garage.
