1950 Ford F-1 Pickup Barn Find With Patina on 2040-cars
Massillon, Ohio, United States
This is a 1950 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck. It has a 1974 Buick 350 V-8 Engine, Automatic Transmission and Ford 9" Differential. It also has the Power Booster and Master Cylinder from the 1974 Buick. The truck sat for years and could truly be considered a Barn Find. It appears to have spent more years behind the barn than inside the barn! The Truck's Engine got a new Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, New Distributor Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs, Plug Wires and the Carburetor was rebuilt. It starts easily with a couple of pumps on the accelerator and the first turn of the key. The Brake System got a New Power Booster, New Master Cylinder, New Brake lines and Hoses, New Wheel Cylinders and more. It has Brakes and will stop. The Body has rust and dents and dings. It also has the shopworn look and patina everyone is trying to copy. The Truck is fairly complete and draws a fair amount of attention. It has a sheet of steel in the floor of the bed. None of the gauges function and the gauge cluster is loose in the dash. The seat appears to be an original unit, but may be out of something else. It has a blue aftermarket cover on it. The Truck is sitting on a set of vintage bia-ply tires and original style wheels and hub caps. The Tires appear to be quite old. They hold air and have good tread, but I'm not sure putting them on the road would be a good idea. I have not been driving this truck on the street. Driving it home is probably not an option. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a couple of hundred miles of Canton, Ohio, or you can pick it up. It will start and drive right onto your trailer. I am posting good
pictures, but will try to answer any questions through email. I have sold vehicles to overseas buyers and welcome foreign bidders. This Truck is listed with no reserve and a low starting bid. It will sell to the highest bidder.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Mon, 10 Feb 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.
Ford turns Navistar from truck business customer to rival
Mon, 19 May 2014There is a showdown brewing in the medium-duty truck segment next year as Ford prepares to launch its all-new, in-house engineered 2016 F-650 and F-750. It finally marks the end of the Blue Diamond joint venture between Ford and Navistar and, making the two entities direct competitors instead of partners.
Ford announced the end of the joint venture in an investor report in 2011, but it didn't reveal the new F-650 and F-750 until the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, IN, in March. Unlike the current, Mexican-built models, the new generation will be built in Avon Lake, OH, starting in mid-2015.
The challenge from Ford comes during a rough patch for Navistar. The company had a $248 million loss in the first quarter, according to The Wall Street Journal, and its medium-duty truck market share is currently down to 26 percent, from 36 percent in 2011. Building the previous-generation Fords brought in about $400 million a year to Navistar, according to the WSJ. To take on its former partner, Navistar plans to offer its International brand of medium-duty vehicles with more engine and transmission options to customers. It even struck a deal with Cummins to put its diesels in some of the models.
