1949 Ford F-1, F100 Pick Up Short Bed on 2040-cars
Fort Myers, Florida, United States
This is a relisting of my nice 1949 Ford F-1 short wheel base Truck. If you do not plan on paying, or you think you are going to try to scam me out of my bank info, don't waste my time and yours. This truck has nice paint and interior, but not perfect. It powered by a Chevrolet 307, Edelbrock carb, radiator has been flushed and pressure tested and is full of antifreeze. It has a transmission cooler, 9 inch rear, runs quiet, drives good. It starts right up and turns heads every where I go. It has all new brakes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder and new lines. Power windows, power steering, with a tilt and telescopic steering wheel. It rolls on newer Ford rims and tires. The muffler is old and rusty and could use a new one, but still runs quiet. Solid cab with clean cab corners. All the lights are new and work. The gauges are after market and are located in the dash. At idle the oil is at 35, the volts are at 14, and the temp reads 180. The fuel gauge is new but it is stuck on full, it probably needs a new sending unit. The wipers are the old vacuum style, the motor works but I have no arms for them. It has the original heater and it works. The motor and tranny have no leaks. The windows are electric, go up and down and the controls are located in the center of the dash. The horn is a ah-ooga horn and the button is located under the dash. It has a older Super Tuner radio with Kenwood speakers and they work. Nice looking interior with black carpet, door panels and headliner. Low reserve don't let this one get away.
On Jan-10-14 at 10:18:19 PST, seller added the following information: Question .........looks good !..........been looking for this vintage for over a year.........what I have settled on is a basically unmolested 48 - 50 and "daily driver " quality...........does this fit the bill ?.........I have this belief, which at times has proven costly to believe what I am told..........so please be honest ! Thanks ! Answer This truck is not unmolested, but it has been altered in a good way. They did not come with tilt telescopic steering, power windows, transmission coolers. or Chevrolet powered. The motor is stock and quiet. It is not a race truck. |

Ford books $2.6B pretax quarterly profit
Thu, 24 Jul 2014While its crosstown competitors at General Motors are smarting over a drastic drop in net income to $200 million in the second quarter, Ford has reason to celebrate. The Blue Oval has announced its own Q2 financial results, including a growing net income of $1.3 billion, a $78 million increase over last year. Pretax profits for the company reached $2.6 billion, up $44 million from 2013, but total revenue dropped slightly to $37.4 billion, down from $37.9 billion. Profits per share before one-time charges totaled 40 cents per share, beating Wall Street analysts' expectations of 36 cents a share.
Regionally, the Blue Oval performed strongly, as well. North America posted a record quarterly pre-tax profit of $2.4 billion, a $119 million increase. Europe also showed signs of turn around with its first profit in three years of $14 million after a loss of $306 million in Q2 2013. Ford is actually predicting profitability in the troubled region in 2015. Asia Pacific operations also performed well with $159 million in profits, up $29 million from last year. The only region where the business posted a loss was South America.
According to Automotive News, Ford also announced more precise plans about the changeover to build the aluminum-intensive 2015 F-150. In August, the Dearborn plant will shutdown for eight weeks to retool and its Kansas City plant will do the same next year.
Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
Ford Fiesta ST customs get wild at SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013The massive 57-car SEMA showcase by Ford ranges from obvious aftermarket-friendly models like the Mustang, to the not so obvious ones, like the Transit Connect and cute-as-an-explosive-button Fiesta ST. Ford plucked several Fiesta STs for SEMA duty, and we were on the show floor today to get a closer look at some of them.
First up is the striking COBB Tuning and Tanner Foust Racing Fiesta ST (above) finished in a black-and-gray digital camouflage, much like that used in the military, and is meant to raise awareness for the Pat Tillman Foundation. COBB also fitted a three-inch exhaust and a cold-air intake. A new shift knob, carbon-fiber hood and a Kicker stereo round out the mix of upgrades.
MRT got its hands on a Fiesta ST and created a car inspired by Forza Motorsport 5 (below, left). Featuring a two-tone paint job and more performance upgrades than you can shake a stick at, this Fiesta ST is one of the cooler compacts at Ford's stand. A high-performance exhaust system, along with a complimentary COBB induction system, allows the ST to breathe better, while an H&R coil over suspension and Steeda brakes help it stop and turn better than stock.
