1948 Ford F1 Hot Rod Rat Rod Custom Fresh Big Block 396 And Trans. In Wylie,tx on 2040-cars
Wylie, Texas, United States
what we have here was originally a 1948 ford f1 chopped rat rod that a buddy built and it has been on the road for years. he sold it and a guy started making it into a show truck. started body work, most interior, chromed several parts, added badass new big block drivetrain and a decent sound system.
it could go either way as of now. either finish it out in flat black for nice hot rod, finish body work and add custom paint for car show ride, or sand it back down and let it rust for a cool rat rod. either way, it's up and running driving and stopping. just drove it this weekend and went to big car show.
If you have any other questions feel free to call me cori 214-336-6759 anytime. I will likely paint cowl and front grill surround to match before auction ends.
P.S. the front wheels are borrowed and not going with the truck. it will have red steelies on it to match the rear. no dissapointments on this ride, the frame was built by pro welder / fabricator it drives really well.
the reserve is not ridiculous but keep in mind the drivetrain alone is worth 8k.

Ford F-35 Lightning II Edition Mustang appears at EAA Oshkosh
Sat, 26 Jul 2014Ford is back at the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture air show in Oshkosh, WI, on July 31 auctioning off its seventh Mustang for charity, and this is one seriously mean looking 2015 'Stang. All of the money from the sale goes to give free introductory flights to young people to get them interested in aviation.
We recently saw this latest EAA Mustang as a sketch. However, it looks a whole lot more menacing in person. Dubbed the Ford F-35 Lightning II Edition Mustang, it takes liberal inspiration from Lockheed Martin's latest fighter jet, and the customization makes the pony car look ready for a role in Top Gun.
On the outside, the special Mustang wears titanium-color paint that's offset by a black and yellow stripe running from hood to rear. Out back things get really wild with a mix of bright yellow and black that flows diagonally all the way to the rear spoiler. The design is based on the livery of early production F-35s. If the rousing color scheme isn't enough to get you interested, the car also gets a carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser, lowered suspension and a set of custom 21-inch wheels with yellow brake calipers.

USPS releases hot rod stamps to speed up your delivery
Sun, 08 Jun 2014After one of the worst winters in recent memory for much of the country, summer is finally here. It's time to drop the top, open the sunroof or at least put down the windows and take a long drive. The United States Postal Service is celebrating the season's sun in automotive style with two new hot rod Forever stamps.
Both stamps depict classic '32 Ford hot rods. One shows the car from the front at a low angle in red (pictured above), while the other depicts the car from the back in black with flames running down the side.
To introduce the new stamps on their first day of availability, the USPS went straight to the source at the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. They were unveiled by Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, Car Crazy host Barry Meguiar and NSRA Special Events Director Jerry Kennedy.
