1947 Ford Pickup Truck Rat Rod. This truck is a 1947 Ford Truck Cab on a custom fabricated Tube Steel Frame. It has a clear Ohio Title and is currently registered. The Grill is from a 1938 Ford truck. The Engine is a small block Chevrolet V-8 and the transmission is a T-5 5 Speed Manual out of a 1985 IROC Camaro. It has a Hydraulic Clutch. The Differential is a 9" Ford. The Cab is not chopped or cut, but is channeled over the Frame. The Cab and Doors are in good condition. There are dents and dings, but they are not rusty. The Cab has full glass including windshield and side door windows. Both door windows roll up and down. The passenger side glass is cracked. The interior has a set of bucket seats. I do not know what they are out of. They do not adjust forward or back, but sit comfortably in the truck. The Fuel Tank is a custom fabricated Stainless Steel unit and is bolted to the bed floor in the rear of the truck. The Battery is located beneath the bed floor. The bed sides, bulkhead and tailgate are from a 1950 Ford F-1. The Wing is an aluminum unit that can be unbolted and removed, if you do not like it. The truck is full of new parts including a new 1965 Ford Mustang Radiator from Summit Racing with electric Fan, New Electric Fuel Pump, New Flywheel, Clutch and Pressure plate, New Starter and New Chevrolet 1 Wire Alternator with a Mr. Gasket low Alternator Mounting Kit. The Scoop on the Carburetor is a Mr. Gasket Street Scoop. It is mounted low to give the truck a sleek look and the Coil is mounted inside the rear section of the scoop. The Truck has a suicide front end and wide white wall tires front and rear. The rear tires are Moon Eyes Portawalls. The front tires are bias-ply wide white walls. The truck runs and drives. It has Headlights, high and low beam, running lights and brake lights. The truck sits low and has a great Rat Rod look. It is loud with the short pipes. It does scrape and drag the ground. Most of this could be eliminated by replacing the exhaust pipes. I have been considering putting zoomie pipes on it for just that reason. I am posting good pictures and description. I will try to answer all questions through email. If you would like to see and drive the truck, please contact me and make an appointment. I am listing this Rat Rod with a low starting price and no reserve. It will sell to the highest bidder. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Canton, Ohio.

Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.
Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup
Sat, 08 Mar 2014Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
Ford EcoSport Storm concept swallows a Raptor in Sao Paulo
Sun, 02 Nov 2014Ford rolled into the Sao Paulo Motor Show with some pretty cool crossovers in tow, the awesomest of all being the EcoSport Storm concept shown above, which draws its inspiration directly from the F-150 SVT Raptor. It packs a lower grille clearly derived from the now-famous muscle truck, as well as a Blue Storm paint job, black and silver trim, special graphics, lower body cladding and 215/75 R15 off-road tires. Don't go holding your breath for a supercharged V8, though; made locally in Brazil, India and Thailand, the tiny EcoSport is typically powered by a three- or four-cylinder engine.
The Storm isn't the only specially prepared Ecosport on show, however, joined as it is by another pair called Beauty and the Beast. Beauty is decked out in matte copper with a black roof, LED fog lamps, 18-inch wheels with low-profile tires and an interior complete with four individual bucket seats, leather upholstery and a full multimedia suite. The Beast, meanwhile, takes a sportier approach with a white pearl finish, blue and orange trim and three-bar grille. It also wears 18-inch wheels and LED fog lamps, but its interior swaps out its rear seats for a bike rack.
Joining the EcoSport show cars was an Edge crossover equipped with all the latest technologies and done up in bright red with three-bar grille, bulging hood, and an interior featuring 10-inch touchscreens and leather upholstery. Feel free to read more in the press release below.
