for the inconvenience. If you're looking for a practically new, used vehicle for a great deal, this is your chance. Up for auction is a 2009 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 SUV. This is a one owner gov't fleet
vehicle. Only 12k original miles. Equipped with power locks/keyless, power windows, power seat,
power mirrors, cruise, CD player, tilt. 4.0L V6 engine with automatic transmission. 4x4 is great for the beach, offroad and snow. Has tow package. This has been fleet serviced/maintained since new. Priced far below retail value with low reserve. Don't miss chance to own a nearly new vehicle at a fraction of the price. Has a rebuilt/salvage title due to flood history. Appears to have been fresh water and very minimally exposed. Comes with a 3 month/3000 mile warranty (upgraded to a 6 month/6000 mile warranty if you use the BUY NOW price). Please read
description below for more details. Please feel free to contact me with any and all questions PRIOR to bidding. Drivetrain
Engine
starts up and runs strong and smooth as you would expect. 4.0L V6 engine with automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive. Only 12k
miles. No engine knocking, smoking, or dripping leaks. Shifts into and through all
gears smoothly as it should. Has powerful acceleration
and cruises at highway speed. Has been fleet serviced since new. Recent Service: new battery, all fluids have been changed. Extended Warranty covers drive train components only.
Exterior
Paint has all of
its shine and glistens in the sun as you can see. This
was a fleet/municipal vehicle and as such, does have some
minor physical blemishes. There
are nicks, chips, scratches, dings, and other minor blemishes in a few spots around
the body. There is a scratch on the rear right side door and some scuffs on the front left side bumper edge. There is some paintwork on the doors and tailgate where decals were removed. Overall nice looking truck as you can see. Please keep in mind this is not new but still a nice low mileage specimen.
Interior
Interior is in very good
condition
with minimal wear. There may be a few tiny holes drilled in some of the console panels where electronics were mounted. Seats and floor are in like-new condition with no rips or significant wear. A/C blows cold. Radio and other devices work fine as they should. SRS light is on due to a faulty seat track sensor. The RSC light periodically comes on if starting up on uneven terrain. This pertains to the anti-roll feature that applies braking if you corner too hard. It doesn't affect performance of vehicle and has only come on a few times. No evidence or smoking or pets. Fresh and clean inside.
Wheels and Tires
· Tires
have approximately 50%+ tread remaining. Full set of factory alloy rims.
I have test driven approximately 200 miles and assessed the overall condition of the vehicle to the best of my ability. Known defects have
been noted, but there may be repairs required and additional defects
beyond what is listed. Please keep in mind this is a salvage/rebuilt vehicle with previous flood damage history. As
I
recommend
to all my customers, you should have your mechanic look over any newly
purchased vehicle before extensive use.
I have tried to list as many
details about this vehicle as I can, including known defects. Please
keep in mind this was a gov't vehicle and may have greater
wear and tear than normal vehicle. There
may
be deficiencies that I am not aware of so buyers are encouraged to
inspect in
person. If you are local I encourage and
welcome you to
come down and check out the truck for yourself or have an independent
inspection completed PRIOR to bidding. There will be no price
adjustments or sale cancellations for failure to do so. IT IS THE
BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK QUESTIONS AND/OR INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE
BIDDING AND PURCHASE. FAILURE OF THE BUYER TO DO SO DOES NOT
CONSTITUTE NON-DISCLOSURE OF DEFECTS ON THE SELLERS PART. I am happy to
answer any
questions so feel free to e-mail me or call.

In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder and Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Top of the list this week are the leaked photos of the 2021 Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport. Then they talk about the possibility of a small Ford pickup based on the Focus, as well as all the electric vehicles Snyder saw in person at GM's "EV Day." The editors have been driving the Ram Power Wagon and Hyundai Sonata, and Palmer took Autoblog's long-term Subaru Forester to New Orleans. Finally, they help a listener choose a small luxury crossover in this week's "Spend My Money" segment. then, just as they're about to wrap up the show, they learn that the 2020 New York Auto Show has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.

Ford began manufacturing cars in Australia in 1925 with the Model T. In 2016, Ford will stop manufacturing cars Down Under, including the Falcon and the Territory SUV. Ford Australia CEO Bob Graziano has reportedly confirmed the closure of the company's Broadmeadows assembly plant and the Geelong engine plant, both in the state of Victoria. There will be 650 jobs lost at Broadmeadows, 510 sacrificed at Geelong. Of the roughly 3,000 workers the Blue Oval has in Australia, it's said it will try to retain about 1,000 of them at its R&D and product development facilities.
The writing hasn't just been on the wall, it's been a regular item in all the papers and on Ford's bottom line for years. As recently as 2003, Ford sold nearly 75,000 Falcons, but over the next four years, annual sales dropped by something like 10,000 units, and over the last two years, it has sold less than 20,000 per year. It isn't only Ford that has suffered - sales of the other large, locally produced sedan, the Holden Commodore, have also gone over the precipice, triggering the same kind of angst about Holden's continued existence. Ford is the smallest of Australia's local automakers, Holden and Toyota the others, and has posted losses of $AUD141 million last year ($136M US) and $AUD600 million ($580M US) in the past five years. Graziano said the cost of manufacturing is simply too expensive in the country, twice as high as Europe and three times as high as Asia, and there no way to make a business case for staying in the country.
In January 2012, Ford Australia announced it would stay in the country until at least 2016, but by July of the same year, most outside observers were quietly declaring that 2016 would be the last year of Ford Down Under, and even the speculation was making other observers nervous. Ford received money from the Victorian government last year to aid its refresh of the Falcon and Territory, which will continue on schedule for the 2014 model year. A front- and all-wheel-drive sedan on a global platform is predicted to replace the Falcon, with some other SUV expected to replace the Territory. The company says it still intends to expand its lineup in the country.
