2004 Ford Explorer Xlt...4.0l V6...4x4...clean--needs Work, But Well Worth Fixng on 2040-cars
Mount Holly, New Jersey, United States
Listed for sale is this 2004 Ford Explorer XLT with approximately 119K miles. The vehicle is in good condition inside and out. The interior shows minor wear and tear, and the leather seats and carpet are free of rips. The exterior is also in good condition with only a few scuffs and scratches
The vehicle will needs mechanical work. A newer transmission was recently installed, and worked perfectly for a few weeks. However, now the Park gear doesn't work; so the vehicle rolls if not on an uneven surface. Also, the reverse doesn't always work. I took it to another mechanic who said the transmission seems to be fine, but it appears to be an issue with the linkage, which could happen if the transmission wasn't installed properly. The vehicle was just recently serviced and tuned-up. In addition, both catalytic convertors were replaced, but it will need O2 sensors will need to be replaced. The airbag light is also on due to a sensor. Still, this is a very nice vehicle overall, and if you compare, you would see this vehicle retails for as high as $6000. Again, it will need some work, but at this price, it's well worth it. The reserve is set very low; so don't miss out on this deal. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks and Good Luck! |

A tribute to William Clay Ford
Tue, 11 Mar 2014The passing of William Clay Ford has been a big event for the company he spent most of his life helping run. Ford spent 57 years working for his family's company. Considering the Blue Oval has been around for over 100 years, WCF's passing is the end of an era for the Dearborn-based manufacturer.
Ford's YouTube channel has issued a short memorial video highlighting the life of the longest-lived grandson of company founder Henry Ford. It follows William Clay from his time as a boy, showing him alongside his grandfather, through his younger years, and into his twilight, as the patriarch of the Ford family.
Take a look below for this touching memorial video on William Clay Ford.
Enterprise working with renter's insurance to cover $47k Mustang stolen from its lot
Sat, 11 Jan 2014There was more than a bit of public indigence following the recent story of Enterprise Rent-A-Car billing a customer $47,000 to replace a Ford Mustang GT Convertible stolen from a Nova Scotia lot. To recap: Kristen Cockerill rented the Mustang for two days, returned it to the lot on a Sunday and left the keys in a secure dropbox only for Enterprise employees to find the car gone the next day.
Despite Enterprise policies stating that customers are responsible for vehicles dropped on off-days, the company has admitted that the situation could've been handled a bit better.
In a recent statement, Enterprise has backed off the big-bill story, and claims to be working with Cockerill and her insurance company to resolve the issue. Further, the Enterprise general manager overseeing Nova Scotia has spoken with the harried renter, and apologized "for the way this claim was handled during the last few months."
Are you the next Ford Edge? [UPDATE]
Wed, 13 Feb 2013What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.
UPDATE: Substituted clearer image - thanks, Sean!
