2002 Ford Explorer Xls V.8 4.6 Fwd on 2040-cars
Columbus, Ohio, United States
Hi there,
I have a 2002 Ford explorer XLS V8 4.6 liter ABS 4 Wheel Drive SUV for sale. I bought it in July of 2012. I bought it knowing it needed, brakes, and an exhaust, and there was a small crack in the window so I got a pretty good deal on it. I decided since I was getting new brakes and an exhaust I had them see if there may be any future problems. They informed be that I would eventually need a rack and pinion so I went ahead and got that fixed too. I got all 6 catalletic converters rebuilt and after rear ending someone in a (thankfully) small slow accident sliding on snow at a stop light the grill and parts of the hood got a little broke up. That I did not fix. It's only cosmetic but there did seem to be a problem with my transmission slipping. So I decided to go ahead and get that all rebuilt also. So most of the engine is either new or rebuilt. The 2 problems left are cosmetic. The dents on the front and the grill, and having to manually open and close the hood. It was my perfect second car for work and to take everyone camping. its got 144,000 miles on it. Not bad for a 12 year old car. Things I love about it: Power: Steering, windows f/b, power mirrors, power LEATHER seats. anit lock breaks tilt wheel privacy tinted back windows cruise control air conditioner in front and back dual air bags 3rd row seating that can be folded down to either sleep in while camping or store groceries luggage roof top racks running boards automatic am/fm radio cassette player CD player Towing capatible Brand new battery I hate to get rid of such a nice car (to me at least) that I took such good care of. I just simply can't afford two cars anymore. So I would like to sell it for $4300.00. (negotiable) I'd consider it in Good condition, but fair because of the cosmetic issues in the front. All the lights and everything work fine it's more of a matter of your personality. I'm not a flashy person and since it was my work and camping SUV it never bothered me enough to pay the $3 or $400 bucks to get the front fixed up if you'd chose to you'd have a pretty perfect car. I, nor anyone else, ever smoked in it. If you'd like to send me your email I can send you lots more pictures. CARFAX for it. I'm off all next week so get ahold of me anytime day or night if you'd like to see it or test drive it. |

Uber hopes facilities in Detroit will help shape its autonomous future
Mon, Sep 19 2016Hot off the heels of unleashing its fleet of self-driving vehicles in Pittsburgh, PA, Uber announced plans to open a new facility in the Detroit, MI area, reports Automotive News. The new facility was announced at an event hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers in Detroit, MI. Uber's vice president of global vehicle programs Sherif Marakby revealed the news, reports Automotive News. The facility is meant to help the ride-sharing company collaborate with suppliers and automakers in the area. There's no word on where Uber will build the new facility or how big it will be, as those factors have yet to be determined. Just like Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI could become another testing ground for the ride-sharing company. The latest move to open a facility in the Detroit area comes after Uber offered users in Pittsburgh the chance to ride in one of its autonomous vehicle as it looks to gain vital real-world testing. Uber is utilizing a fleet of modified Ford Fusions. Earlier this year in April, the automaker announced a partnership with Google, Lyft, Uber, and Volvo to develop autonomous cars. A new facility in Detroit would strengthen the partnership and help Uber, as well as Ford put autonomous vehicles on the road faster. TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.
Warning: There is explicit, not-safe-for-work language in the video below.
