I have too many vehicles!  You are looking at a 2002 Ford Explorer that I have invested roughly $4000 fixing up only to decide we wanted a different car before I got it back from the shop...  So here we go:   The transmission and rearend have almost 0 miles on the rebuild (I only drove it home from the shop).  The transmission and transfer case shift smooth.  The rear wheel bearings were replaced at that time as well.  All work was done by an ASE certified technician.  Rear Tires have about 90% tread life left and front tires have less than 100 miles on them.  I put a new battery in it last month.  Motor is solid.  I have no concerns with the drivetrain on this vehicle.  I would have no reservations about taking off cross country in it today!

The exterior of this vehicle is in pretty good shape for its age and for having 118,460 miles on it.  However, The plastic on the bumper is popped loose on the left rear but is barely noticeable and an easy fix (see picture).  There is a minor nickel-sized door ding on the right rear door.  There are some minor rock chips and blemishes as u would expect on a vehicle of this age.  But as I said, it's in pretty good shape.

The seats are all leather.  The driver's seat shows considerable wear but is comfy.  The passenger seat is also showing wear but not as bad as the driver's seat (see pictures).  The rear seats are in excellent shape.  There was a sizeable stain on the carpet in the hatch when I took the pictures but my wife put some elbow grease into it and was able to get it out.  Also, the left rear power window is not working and the compass only works part of the time.

The heat and air conditioner work great!

I have two keys and two fobs.  The keypad on the door functions properly.

I am not a dealer!  This is the car my wife and I drove everyday and I truly believe this is a good, reliable vehicle.  Please feel free to drive this vehicle before you bid.  If you have any questions I should be able to answer them for you.

Serious bidders only please!  I have already sold this vehicle once but the winning bidder did not pay.  I think he had a legitimate excuse but it creates a real headache when that happens.

Thanks for looking, Happy bidding, and good luck

Sunday Drive: Rendering the future at Jeep and Ford

Sun, Apr 8 2018

Last week brought us quite a wide variety of automotive news nuggets, and judging by the response of our own readership, the Jeep Wrangler pickup truck led the way. It's not expected to hit the sales floor until April of 2019, which means we've all got an entire year to wait, but that just means we have lots of time to anticipate its arrival. And we do so today with a series of renderings that show what the so-called Scrambler may look like in a few different colors. Another set of renderings depicting a hotly anticipated new vehicle follow just behind. The Baby Bronco – will Ford ante up to the retro-inspired table and call it the Bronco II? – will be one size smaller than the regular-grade Bronco, and we think it'll compete with the Jeep Renegade as a subcompact crossover with some real off-road chops. Moving onto some tuners, both old and new(er), we first present a sweet old Dodge Ram pickup truck tuned by none other than Carroll Shelby himself. The blue and silver striped truck looks so period perfect that it stands out as a star even alongside a quartet of vintage Shelby Mustangs with which it will share space at the Bonhams auction in Greenwich, Conn., this June. And finally we turn our attention to the Hennessey Veliciraptor, an absolute behemoth of a truck. Based on the most excellent Ford Raptor, the Velociraptor ups the crazy quotient with six wheels and 600 hundred horsepower. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the latest automotive news. 2019 Chicago Auto Show photo gallery: All of the grilles

Fri, Feb 8 2019

Do you like trucks? How about grilles? Like really big, shiny, chromey, in-your-face, could-be-made-by-Broil-King grilles? Well, the Chicago Auto Show is the place to be. Traditionally known as the truck show of the annual auto show circuit (at least those covered by national media), Chicago has what seems like a small national park's worth of acreage devoted to both consumer and commercial trucks. From humble extended cab Ford Rangers to a mammoth F-650 with cherry picker sprouting from its aft quarters, there's bound to be a truck for everything. And they all have grilles. So above is our gallery devoted to them, because hell, why not? Should you want to know about the trucks attached to those grilles, check out our coverage below. Here's the new face of the Ford Ranger

Thu, Nov 27 2014

Ford Asia Pacific has put a teaser video on YouTube showing off details on the 2015 Ranger pickup, and at the end we get a quick glimpse of the whole truck. This is the T6 Ranger that we still don't get in North America, but that shares its underpinnings with the Everest SUV recently introduced at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum. The Ranger gets a chunkier front end than the Everest, identified by its grille with three floating slats, reminiscent of designs on the previous F-150, and a less-stylized lower front bumper. Ford says it will be smarter, safer, smoother and stronger, but we'll have to wait for its reveal to find out what that means. Meanwhile, you can admire its new looks in the video below.
