This sport trac runs great it has never failed to start even when it's been -40 in the winter.  It has just had it's regular maintenance items replaced and it's ready to go.  Things that were just done were new plugs, wires, fuel filter, battery, idle air control, k&n air filter, oil change and filter.   The truck runs, shifts and 4x4 work great.   The truck also had a. 3" body lift installed to accommodate the 33" nitro terra grappler tires and the 18x9 fuel contrast cut wheels.   The tires have about 3000 miles on them and have tons of life left.   Also installed was a Reese towing package that is heavy duty.   The truck came loaded from the factory and also came with the aluminum flip out bed extender and hard flip able tonneau cover.   An in dash Sony touch screen DVD player has replaced the factory stereo.   As for things this truck needs it is minor but feel they should be addressed.   The trucks A/C does work great however when the body lift way installed the company cut a line and it needs replaced.  Worked great up until that though.  It's not a big deal at all.  The front tie rods need replaced as they are worn and rattle a bit when hitting bumps on the road.  And lastly the rear window switch stopped working.  I never rolled down back window anyway so I didn't replace it.  Everything else on the truck to my knowledge works great and has no issues.   As for exterior, the truck does have normal little scratches that would be expected on a used vehicle.  The rear bumper has a gash in it next to the hitch from previous owner and windshield has a rock chip on passenger side which has been repaired so it won't crack or anything.  If you have any questions feel free to ask..  Thanks

Ken Block ain't got a care about ruining his wheels

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

During a drifting session at Irwindale Speedway in California, Ken Block made a boo-boo that would send a number of drivers immediately back to the infield. But there's an answer to "What do you do when you bash the wall while drifting and your wheel explodes?" and there's completely different answer when the question begins with the phrase, "When you're Ken Block..."
Instead of us telling you how Block handled the calamity in his Ford Fiesta competition car, you can watch it happen in the video below. You can probably also guess what it is - but it's more fun to watch.

Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.

Hennessey Ford GT sets 267.6-MPH record at Texas Mile [w/videos]

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

The record-setting Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT we showed you at this time last year headed back to the Texas Mile and managed to bring home yet another record. As you may recollect, last year saw Mark Heidraker's machine sprint to a record 257.7 mph thanks to propulsion from its twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8. The big mill sucks down race gas, and this year the creation pulled off a 267.6-mph run over the weekend. That feat set a new record for the event. Something tells us neither Heidraker nor Hennessey are done squeezing more thrust from this machine.
This particular Ford GT has already gone through a number of permutations. Hennessey started by tweaking the factory supercharger set up before abandoning the blower in favor of two turbos. Since then, the crew has poked and prodded it to coerce as much grunt as possible out of the car. We expect Hennessey will probably come out with a video of the record-setting run shortly, but in the meantime, you can see a couple of videos of the car's runs in Texas below (one of which actually captures the record run). Enjoy.
