2007 Ford Expedition EL Eddie Bauer 4WD

Vehicle is for sale locally and this listing could end early.

We still owe money on the vehicle so it will take some time to get the title from the bank after payment has been made. We called them to discuss our options and it should take 7-10 business days to get the title after payoff. Contact me BEFORE BIDDING if you have questions. The autocheck report shows there is a loan on the title.

We purchased this fine vehicle as a Ford Certified Pre-owned about 3 years ago and drove up to Michigan to get it. We were in a band and this was going to be the "back up" vehicle if the the main truck broke down. This would be able to fit all the people and pull the trailer of equipment. We never ended up have to do so and now that the band is no more we no longer need a vehicle of this size for our family of 4. So here are some highlights of the vehicle that aren't mentioned in the options.

  1. Low miles (mix between city/highway)
  2. Existing and transferable bumper to bumper extended warranty (100,000 miles/72 month with about 3 years left on it)
  3. Non smoker owned
  4. Was Ford Certified Pre-owned when we bought it
  5. Very peppy for such a large vehicle
  6. Service Records since we've owned it (didn't get any from the previous owner)
  7. Regular oil changes (needed to keep warranty valid)
  8. Navigation DVD included
  9. Goodyear tires with plenty of tread left on them.(with 10,000 miles on them. 1 is only a year old. replaced after I hit a nail)
  10. All work done by the dealer (except oil changes were usually walmart or goodyear)
  11. Very quiet inside with a great stock sound system.
  12. I am the 2nd owner.
Some of the "not so" highlights. I am nit picking the car for you. :)

  1. The front wheels appear to have been "curbed" by the previous owner (we park in a driveway and never do street parking). we bought the car like this. The chrome wheels are actually chrome clad. The chrome clad is rolled at the edges and I can only assume this happened as the vehicle was parked too close to a curb?? I can't say for sure. It doesn't effect the tires, handling or saftey of the vehicle at all. See pics.
  2. Another item of interest is a crack in the trim close the passenger side fog light. it was like this when I bought it and didn't even notice it until I was washing it at home. I can only speculate what happened here. See pics
  3. The middle seat belt in the 3rd row seats has been crushed during the power folding of the seats. Again I found out after I purchased. The seat belt won't buckle for now. It should be a warranty item, but its slipped my mind everytime I had warranty work done. We usually kept the seats folded down for more space in the back.
  4. There is a scuff on the passenger side of the center console. Again, I have no idea since it was there when we bought it.
  5. The paint on the tailgate has bubbled up and fell away in the typical spot. I've seen this on several of these vehicles. Some sort of factory defect I guess. There isn't any rust there. See Pics.
  6. There is a scratch about an ince and half long near the back driver side door handle. This was my fault. I was carrying something past it and bumped into the car. I hated myself for days! See Pics.
  7. The paint isn't perfect, but really good. You have to get up close to see any imperfections besides the ones I mentioned. You can see from the pics that she shines up nice! With a full detail she'd look almost new!

Shipping/Pickup

I'll let you decide how you want to go about getting the vehicle. We can do pick up or shipping or whatever you want, but I'll leave the decisions up to you on who to use and when.

Yearly auto recall record demolished in 6 months

Tue, Jul 1 2014

With nearly 40 million vehicles under repair campaigns and counting, 2014 will almost certainly go down as the year of the automotive recall. At just past the halfway mark, we are already at record levels, and there aren't any signs that the epidemic is slowing. General Motors' latest 8.4 million vehicle recall in the US puts the industry over the top for the title of the most cars with fixes pending from automakers ever. That's a prize no one ever wants to receive. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the US recall total has hit 39.85-million vehicles to surpass the previous record of 33.01 million in 2004. Perhaps more surprising, with over 26 million repairs pending, it's still quite possibly that GM could recall more vehicles by the end of the year than the 27.96-million unit total of the entire US auto industry last year. With over 40 campaigns under its belt in 2014, the roughly one million cars it would take would hardly come as a surprise at this point, especially with increased government scrutiny into the Detroit automaker's processes. The pace of recalls started off relatively normal this year, with just a smattering of campaigns. The most surprising early on was Aston Martin calling in about 75 percent of its output since 2007 due to counterfeit plastic, but with just a few thousand cars, it was relatively tiny in pure numbers. GM really kicked things off soon after, but we didn't know it at the time. It issued its first bulletin for 778,000 Cobalt compacts in early February. Things only ballooned from there as more models were added to its growing ignition switch problem. The onslaught of announcements from every major automaker hasn't abated since then. Some industry executives are trying to put a positive spin on the situation. "With what's transpired (in recent months), there's a higher level of scrutiny," said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, to TheDetroitBureau.com. He believes that automakers are looking at data much more thoroughly than before, and it means better customer safety. Still, many consumers probably wish these problems had been found before their car went on sale.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Ford Mustang Mach-E fails Sweden's moose test

Wed, Sep 29 2021

The infamous moose test has claimed another casualty. This time it's the Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD Long Range, which was tested in an electric four-way alongside the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Enyaq iV (an electric utility vehicle closely related to the Volkswagen ID.4 that is sold in the United States). According to the Swedish testers at Teknikens Varld, Ford's electric car not only failed to hit the speed necessary for a passing grade, it didn't perform well at slower speeds, either. To pass the outlet's moose test, a car has to complete a rapid left-right-straight S-shaped pattern marked by cones at a speed of at least 72 km/h (44.7 miles per hour). The test is designed to mimic the type of avoidance maneuver a driver would have to take in order to avoid hitting something that wandered into the road, which in Sweden may be a moose but could just as easily be a deer or some other member of the animal kingdom elsewhere in the world, or possibly a child or car backing into the motorway. Not only is the maneuver very aggressive, it's also performed with weights belted into each seat and more weight added to the cargo area to hit the vehicle's maximum allowable carrying capacity. The Mustang Mach-E only managed to complete the moose test at 68 km/h (42.3 mph), well below the passing-grade threshold. Even at much lower speeds, Teknikens Varld says the Mach-E (which boasts the highest carrying capacity and was therefore loaded with more weight than the rest of the vehicles tested in this quartet) is "too soft in the chassis" and suffers from "too slow steering." Proving that it is indeed possible to pass the test, the Hyundai and Skoda completed the maneuver at the 44.7-mph figure required for a passing grade and the Tesla did it at 46.6 mph, albeit with less weight in the cargo area. It's not clear whether other versions of the Mustang Mach-E would pass the test. It's also unknown if Ford will make any changes to its chassis tuning or electronic stability control software, as some other automakers have done after a poor performance from Teknikens Varld, to improve its performance in the moose test.
