Here at Mattoon Motor Mall you are looking at a nice 2006 Ford Expedition XLT with only 119,167 miles. It was a new car dealer trade that I purchased already having an engine miss, so I sent it to the repair shop and they proceeded to replace spark plugs, coil packs, injectors, cam timing solenoids and it still had a miss. So much for replacing parts, so I sent it to another mechanic and he diagnosed it with a bad head gasket between #5 & #6 cylinder. I have decided to take my losses and sell it still needing the repair. It does still run and drive, but does have a definite miss and you are buying it that way. The vehicle is in nice condition with some wear on the outside of the driver's seat (see pic) and a small tear in the headliner (see pic) along with a few minor nicks and scratches around the outside of the body. The tires have appx 25% tread on the front and appx 80% tread on the rear. I am offering it well below book (NADA Retail $10,425) to allow someone to repair it and still be in it right. Please message me with any questions prior to bidding!
You are buying this vehicle As-Is and with No Warranty. Please be fair to everyone else and don't bid unless you are serious and plan on following through with the sale if you are the high bidder! You will be responsible for picking up the vehicle within 14 days of the auction end. A $500 non refundable Paypal deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction end. The balance is due within 5 days of the auction end, payable by bank cashier's check or bank wire transfer. The buyer will be responsible for any applicable sales tax and fees pertaining to the sale of this vehicle. Thank You for looking!

Ford reveals concept trucks that ultimately became Atlas
Wed, 03 Apr 2013The Ford Atlas Concept was one of the quiet success stories of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and now Ford has given us a quick glimpse as to how that creation came to be. Designers actually combined two early sketches to build the Atlas. One, called the Bullet Train, is a futuristic, aerodynamic creation, while the other, aptly named the Locomotive, features the squared off proportions we're familiar with.
Once designers settled on the truck's proportions, they began nailing down exactly which attributes they wanted the final design to have. The Concept's notched windshield originated as a forked glass roof that seamlessly transitioned into the windscreen.
Likewise, designers wanted to fit the truck's tailgate with a storage compartment for tools and a first aid kit, but settled on the dual-purpose step/cargo cradle. Interestingly enough, the concept's active aero shutter wheels actually originated in some of the earliest sketches. Check out the photos and slides here for a closer look.
Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.
Chrysler called out over lackluster Ram Runner by racer who helped develop it
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Fans of off-roading and desert blasting might recall that Chrysler offers an aftermarket conversion that can turn a Ram 1500 into a road-legal desert racer, called the Ram Runner. The kit, sold through Mopar, includes some significant suspension upgrades, body tweaks and a brawnier cat-back exhaust for the truck's 5.7-liter V8.
Considering all of this, comparisons with the almighty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor are common. Among the off-road community, that makes these two a sort of Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang for people that prefer driving on dirt. In the Race-Dezert forum, the discussion as to which truck was better was proceeding as normal - Ram fans said their piece and Ford fans said theirs. Then, a man named Kent Kroeker offered up his two cents.
See, Kroeker is a Baja racer, and the man that helped develop the Ram Runner. Despite his association with the truck, though, he had some less than kind words for Chrysler and the Ram Runner.
