2004 Ford Expedition 4x4 Eddie Bauer edition.

5.4L V8 engine with automatic transmission and selectable four wheel drive (2WD, Automatic AWD, 4H, and 4L) – all in excellent mechanical condition with approx. 127,100 miles.  Newer Michelin tires with less than 12,000 miles of wear mounted on aluminum/alloy wheels.  New front brakes and up-to-date on all services.

White/tan 2-tone paint.  Tan leather interior in excellent overall condition and we are a non-smoking family.  Front heated/cooled Captain’s seats, pedals, steering wheel, and heated exterior mirrors are all fully power adjusted and programmable.   This is a great family vehicle that easily seats seven adults or children comfortably.  The ceiling mounted DVD player with remote is great for entertaining the family and the powered third row seat has excellent leg room.  Second row seats have integrated LATCH anchors to securely install child seats.

Equipped with a Viper alarm and long-range remote start system, which includes two 2-way key fob remotes.

Fully loaded Ford flagship model that includes all the bells and whistles:  PS, PB, PW, PDL, privacy glass, overhead console, dual-zone climate control, intermittent wipers, cruise control, rear defogger, keyless entry, steering wheel-mounted controls, rear window wiper, integrated Homelink garage remote, AM/FM with CD changer, driver and passenger front and side air bags, four wheel ABS disc brakes, luggage/roof rack, fog lamps, running boards, exterior courtesy lights, sun roof, all weather and carpeted floor mats, and full size spare tire.

Exterior is in excellent condition with the exception of the rear liftgate, which has some paint adhesion issues with the galvanized aluminum panel.  This caused the paint in some spots to bubble/peel.  This is a factory defect and is purely cosmetic (and can be repainted, if you so desire).  The metal is galvanized aluminum and there is no rust.  The rear bumper cover is cracked along the bottom edge and the backup sensors are inoperative (but the Ford dealer confirms both are easily repairable).  Driver’s seat does have a small (less than 2mm) hole from the previous owner.  The price has been significantly discounted from both Kelly Blue Book and NADA to account for the various imperfections.   Everything else on the vehicle functions properly and is in fantastic condition.

Passed Virginia State safety inspection and emissions test on November 8, 2013.  License plates were registered for one year on same date and may be transferred with the vehicle if titling/registering in Virginia.

Buyer is responsible for pickup, delivery, or shipping, although we will deliver within a 250 mile radius of Alexandria, VA or assist in putting it on an auto transport.

Accident free, well-maintained, and a clear title in hand.  This is a Pacific Northwest vehicle that's never seen salted roads and is very good in the snow and ice.  It's an incredibly clean, reliable, safe family vehicle or first car for your teen driver.  Originally listed at $8,550.  Now priced well below market value.  Bid with no reserve.  Additional pictures available upon request.

Vehicle is for sale locally and this auction may end early.

Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.

This woman owns the first Ford Mustang sold in the US

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

As Ford celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with the unveiling of the all-new sixth-gen design, one Chicago women can lay claim to a piece of Mustang history. According to CBS Chicago, Gail Wise was the first person in the US to buy a Mustang in 1964, and she did so two days before the car was even unveiled to the public.
Wise, then a 22-year-old teacher, went into the Chicago Ford dealership wanting to buy a convertible, and a salesperson ushered her over to car covered by a tarp. That car was a baby blue Mustang convertible, which she still owns today - along with the documentation. After sitting for almost 30 years and undergoing a full restoration, the car now looks to be in original condition. The report says that this $3,400 purchase could be worth anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000. While this worked out well for Mrs. Wise, we wouldn't recommend anyone going into a dark, back room of a dealership hoping to get a jump on the purchase of a 2015 Mustang.

Ford driving Alaskan maniac rams toddler-carrying SUV

Mon, Jul 25 2016

A couple from Anchorage had a frightening traffic encounter when they were followed and repeatedly rammed by a stranger in a pickup truck. Grace Bernert, her boyfriend, and his two-year-old daughter were returning home from a trip to downtown Anchorage when they noticed a blue, 2001 Ford F-150 following closely behind them. "The guy was so close, we couldn't see his headlights," Bernert told KTVA. Bernert, who was riding shotgun, pulled out her phone to record the truck when it struck the rear end of their Acura SUV. That's when she called 911. Bernert's boyfriend tried to lose the F-150 in the Sullivan Arena parking lot, then drove to a local Ford dealer's parking lot where he drove through a maze of new Ford pickups in an attempt to shake their assailant. "We started doing circles around the brand new Fords because we thought the truck wouldn't be able to turn as fast as we would," said Bernert. "We were right, but the guy didn't care. He just kept hitting the new fords and backing up, coming after us." The truck continued to follow them, ramming the Acura again and again. Bernert estimates that F-150 driver struck their SUV between five and seven times, and hit numerous new trucks in the dealership parking lot. Eventually, they ducked into a nearby neighborhood where they managed to lose the F-150 and called 911. Bernert told KTVA that she believes they were targeted but doesn't know why. "The guy was either some random sick person who didn't care, or somebody who knew us and didn't care there was a kid in the car," she said. Anchorage Police arrived shortly after the couple escaped the F-150 and filed a report about the incident. They are currently investigating. Recent Video:
