2005 Excursion Eddie Bauer 6.0 Diesel White with low mileage and $12,000 in upgrades.

This Excursion was ordered by the owner of a dealership in North Dakota as one of the last Ford Excursions off the line before they stopped making them (they dont make them any newer than this vehicle). He used it sparingly for several years and I purchased it from him in 2010 and have taken it on several trips towing our camper.  Other than those trips I have not really towed much with it.   It didnt even go into service until 2007 and was under warranty when I purchased it.  I am the first owner from the dealership.  Since 2010 then I have taken extremely good care of the vehicle and upgraded the parts of the vehicle that were lacking. This is truly how the vehicle should have come from the factory as Stock.

It has been setup to be the ultimate Excursion Tow Vehicle and family trip vehicle. This is a one of a kind vehicle that is perfect for the family that wants to tow a camper or boat in a rock solid towing platform plus all the comforts of a luxury vehicle.  2005 Excursion Diesels in great condition and under 100k miles (which is really just getting the engine broken in) are going for around 25-30k.  Consider that in addition to belonging to this group I have also added the following upgrades which have cost over 12k and at the same time I have left the engine stock never having modified it in any way - so no worries that it was abused.  They do not make these vehicles anymore and there is really nothing like it - I assume if you are viewing this you already know this fact.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?

2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.
