Best of all, this beautifully kept truck has only 83,923miles on it. The body is straight as an arrow, no dents at all on this rust free truck. This excursion has been garage kept, and all preventive maintenance has been completed by the dealer. The engine is a 6.0 diesel the has never been modified or abused, and is mechanically sound. This truck is all stock except for the aftermarket wheels and tires, costing in excess of $3500. The wheels are 22 inch chrome wrapped in Falkens. The truck has never been used to tow, although it has the capacity to tow whatever you have if need be. The interior looks practically new. There are no rips, cracks, burns, etc. The leather seats are in phenomenal condition. Ice cold front and rear A/C for these brutal summers months, and truck has hot heat and dual heated seats for those cold winters. This is the limited edition model, in arguably the most desirable color combination, black on tan. This truck needs nothing, other than a driver or a family to enjoy it for years to come. They dont make them anymore, let alone make them like this. The paint looks like youre looking into a mirror, it shines like the day it was new. No rock chips are even present. '84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia
Fri, Jan 16 2015These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test.
