Downgraded to a pickup and its time for the best SUV I have ever owned, to find a new home. Can't say enough about this 2003 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer Edition with the 6.0L Powerstroke and the 4x4 except that its been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. This smaller diesel gets EXCELLENT highway and city milage. I have clocked highway milage at 22mpg and city at 18mpg. Average is 17mpg around town under a lot of stop and go. Better fuel milage than my brand new pickup...

I purchased this vehicle brand new from a local dealer so, this is a single owner vehicle. The interior is almost perfect except for some character wear on the front two seats. The body is in perfect condition. No dings or scratches. The interior is in just as good of condition. The engine still runs like new. I switched to Synthetic when the engine hit 100,000 miles and started putting REVX oil additive at the some . The reason for that is they have pulled most sulfates out of diesel fuel so, theres not much left to lubricate the injectors.  This truck will start in 0 degree weather and drive off without warming up. If you needed it, it does have a block heater so it gets toasty quicker :)

This Excursion has been pampered and hasn't towed anything more than a Mastercraft boat and been down a few muddy roads pheasant hunting, thats about it. The 4x4 still works perfect. I have maintained all the fluids front to back along with changing fuel filters every other oil change. This engine has NEVER had any chip or modifications. Its factory.

Some upgrades as of late 2013. New ball joints up front (uppers and lowers - MOOG), new 10 ply all season tires, new Monroe Gasmatic shocks, new vented and slotted brakes on the front and rear with full ceramic brake pads. About $5000 in new parts and upgrades in the last 90 days so, she's ready for another 100,000 plus miles.

This vehicle is ready to be picked up locally or you can arrange shipping. A small deposit will be required at the end of the auction. Full payment (via cashiers check) will be required within 5-7 days of purchase. We will work with your bank if your getting a loan.

What next for Alan Mulally?

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Alan Mulally has emerged as a hero when it comes to American manufacturing. He came to Ford in 2006 after serving as head of Boeing's commercial aircraft division, streamlined operations, sold off the costly elements of its Premier Automotive Group and saved Ford from having to be bailed out by the federal government like its cross-town rivals Chrysler and General Motors did. But as we reported mere days ago, he's widely expected to step down from the chief executive's office at Ford shortly.
So what's next for one of the most successful executives in the business? Hard to say, but don't expect Mulally to disappear into retirement. Though he didn't ultimately take the top job at Microsoft, industry insiders expect to see him in another influential position - likely as a board director or even chairman of another company. (We say "another company" and not Ford because while Bill Ford may have stepped aside as CEO to bring Mulally on board in the first place, we don't see him giving up his chairmanship of the board also.)
Mulally has likely already lined up his next move, and could either announce what that move will be as soon as Ford confirms Mark Fields as his successor, or could wait awhile. Insiders speculate that he could leverage his transportation and aerospace experience into a position at General Electric or a major airline, his manufacturing expertise to benefit a company like Procter & Gamble or his management skills at a consultancy firm.

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.

FL man fatally shot after urging driver not to do donuts in a Mustang

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Bradley Holt (pictured), the older half-brother of University of South Florida freshman quarterback Quinton Flowers, was killed in a random act of violence last week.
The 24-year-old Holt was throwing a football around with local kids in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami, when a yellow Mustang showed up and started doing donuts in the street. Holt, worried about kids playing in front his apartment complex, walked over to the driver and asked him why he was "driving so crazy with so many kids out here?"
The driver left. Holt's sister said the driver came back "about 15 to 20 minutes later" and fired two shots at Holt. One of them hit Holt in the back of the head, killing him.
