If you've been looking for the perfect vehicle to get your boat out of the water or get that camper pulled to your favorite destination and need to haul the whole family, than my extremely clean 2005 Ford Excursion Limited V10 with DVD and just 98,000 pampered miles is for you.
Mechanically this truck runs strong. Motor sounds strong through all the RPM's and pulls nice through all the gears. Transmission shifts smoothly with no funny shifts or slipping. Rolls down the road well. No shakes or shimmies. Brakes feel good. A/C is ice cold in the front and rear. Tires have about 85% tread left. Just an all around well maintained truck that's ready to go when you are. Cosmetically this thing is pretty darn clean. Paint shines like new in the sun. Body is nice and straight with no door dings. Small scratch on the fuel door and a stone chip or two on the hood and fender that have been touched in are the only flaws I've found. Definitely garage kept. Interior is as fresh as they come. Leather, carpet and headliner are all in great shape with minimal wear. Smells great inside and hasn't been smoked in. You'll be thoroughly impressed with the condition of this Excursion. Overall this is a great all around truck to use as a daily driver or to pull your boat or camper around a few times a year. Ford Australia launches Falcon GT F 351, last of its line [w/video]
Sun, 15 Jun 2014It's always best to go out with a bang rather than a whimper, and Ford Performance Vehicles is doing just that in Australia with the Falcon GT F 351. It's the most powerful road car the Aussie performance brand has ever made with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 pumping out 471 horsepower (351 kilowatts) and 420 pound-feet of torque. It's joined by the FPV Pursuit Ute with the same powerplant tuned to 422 hp and 402 lb-ft. Sadly, the last F in this Falcon's name stands for Final.
The GT F 351 is a monumental way to go out, though. It harkens back to the old days of Aussie muscle Fords, and the 351kw output is meant to reference the classic Falcon GT and its 351-cubic-inch V8. In addition to the massive power, the F has the improved suspension from the R-Spec model and Brembo brake calipers.
FPV is building just 500 GT F sedans for Australia and 50 more for New Zealand, plus 120 Pursuit Utes. They feature a blacked-out hood and black stripes over the hood and sides, plus gloss black accents around the headlights, door handles and mirrors.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
