2005 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer 4x4 6.0 Power Stroke Diesel on 2040-cars
Van Nuys, California, United States
I'm selling my 2005 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer Edition 6.0 Liter Power Stroke Diesel 4x4. This SUV is in excellent condition and gets hand washed/waxed every other weekend. When i purchased this SUV from a fellow EBayer in 2011 I immediately upgraded the suspension with a BDS lift (3.5 inch) nothing crazy, and added BDS dual steering stabilizers. The ride and handling characteristics of this huge SUV improved 100%. It went from squirrely to tame immediately - while it was in the shop, I had the crew install a Banks Big Hoss IQ system (bankspower.com/products/show/41/35) which adds approximate up to 138HP and up to 231 lb-ft of torque. I always drive it on Econ mode as it gives plenty of power when i need it. I've never used the drag mode or the other settings (there are 6) because LA traffic doesn't let you do much! And i never felt the need for more when it was loaded for the few camping trips we were able to make - I would cruise the 101 freeway loaded up with gear at 85MPH - breeze. Car camping is a pleasure as we would use a queen size air mattress in the back and our 80lb Rottie still had room to stretch out at the foot of the bed! The roof rack holds 6 bright RIGID LED lights - Left, Right and Rear. I have a 20 inch Rigid LED bar that i was going to install, but never got around to it. The Garvin roof rack holds a Full size Shovel, Axe and a 48" High Lift Jack but these are not included in the sale but the mounts are. The lights are activated by a 6 bank switch plate - obviously only three are in use (see pics). I was going to have a custom floor mounted piece made for the switches, but again, i haven't been able to find a decent maker or stock type - I know they exist, just haven't found one - Jotto makes one but it needs to be rigged to fit without their 28" mounting plate.
Heated Seats, Power seats for both driver and passenger - Tow Package, Rear AC, Power rear vented back panel windows - Loaded. Rear camera, parking distance control......full steering wheel controls...3rd Row seat (garaged) etc. I added a Pioneer AVIC Z140 Stereo head unit w/ SAT (SiriusXM), Bluetooth, HD radio etc.I also added Pioneer speakers front and rear with a Rockford Fosgate Punch amp. I connect my IPhone5 directly or via BT and it works great - I use Pandora frequently - I connect it via the charger when i need to charge my iPhone or iPad. In the center console i installed a console combo safe from console vault - I lock up valuables with confidence. I can show u how to change the combo - takes about 2 seconds or set it to 000. 2k miles ago in October, I spent $4000 on new EGR cooler, new Oil cooler, a fuel pressure regulator seal, oil change, UC-9 flush and turbo inspection. Turbo Inspection (it is in excellent condition). All the work performed was at a large local dealership and is guaranteed. I have all of the receipts. The tires are in great shape maybe 75-80 % (Nitto Terra Graplers - 325-65-18) The wheels are in excellent shape as well. The Excursion rides and drives great - No Vibration or drifting - Stops straight under heavy braking and is not too rough - Actually rides well for such a beast. The transmission shifts perfectly and when i had the vehicle serviced no issues with transmission or turbo were discovered. The windows are professionally tinted all around and the interior leather has held up well - no rips or tears use. The Excursion has 115999 miles on the clock which is rather low for a 9 year old Diesel or any Diesel for that matter - that's approximately 12000 miles a year. I do drive the Excursion once or twice a week - I don't let it sit - only city and highway - no camping or the like while it's on EBAY. We're not desperate to sell at all- this isn't a fire sale nor are we dying for a few bucks - but my work now provides me with a company vehicle and that would make four vehicles to park and we just don't have space at the house - So the big girl has to go. Email me with any questions - i'll get back to you as soon as possible. I can take additional pictures if you need specific areas. But I have tried to show as much as possible, but can accommodate requests as best I can. This is a serious sale for a serious safe and clean vehicle. There is a small loan on the Excursion, however, for the sake of a quick and clean sale, I'm willing to pay off the note prior to any sale for ease of transfer IF AND ONLY IF A DEAL IS MADE and the funds are good and the transaction is nearly done. All funds must clear my bank before release is to take place - No shipping, no possession by anyone before funds clear through our bank and are unavailable for reverse wire return, etc. Cash is good as well. I have sold and purchased on EBAY for @ 15 years- All of my info is upfront and nothing exists in any gray areas, so i expect the same from the buyer. \ Hate to be a hard A**, but it only takes a few jerks to load up on caution. Thanks for looking - email me for further details. Good Luck |

Ford reveals automated Fusion Hybrid
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Autonomous cars may still be in their infancy, but more and more big names in the auto industry are diving in head first. Nissan is already making strides with a semi-autonomous Leaf EV and General Motors is planning to offer semi-autonomous tech by 2020. And then there's Google, doing its thing with a fleet of Toyota Prius. Now, Ford is showing off its latest automated effort, a driverless Fusion Hybrid.
Partnering with the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and State Farm Insurance, the project is part of Ford's Blueprint for Mobility, the company's plan for transportation beyond 2025. "The Ford Fusion Hybrid automated vehicle represents a vital step toward our vision for the future of mobility," Chairman Bill Ford said. "We see a future of connected cars that communicate with each other and the world around them to make driving safer, ease traffic congestion and sustain the environment."
The automated Fusion features four LiDAR infrared sensors that scan the road 2.5 million times every second, using a principle similar to the echolocation used by dolphins or bats. Using the infrared light emitted by the LiDAR, the car can draw a picture of everything within 200 feet to create a map of its surroundings. According to Ford, the sensors are able to tell the difference between a paper bag and a small animal from a football field away.
Ford increasing Super Duty production by 15 percent
Fri, 31 Jan 2014Ford has announced a hefty $80 million investment in its Kentucky Truck Plant, which is responsible for building the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 versions of the Super Duty pickup. The influx of cash will add 350 jobs to the factory.
The investment is also good for a 15-percent increase in annual production thanks to retooling and other facility upgrades, which equates to an extra 55,000 units of production. Considering that Ford makes even more money off its Super Duty than it does on the hot-selling F-150, this could mean some serious coin to Ford's bottom line.

Ford family keeps special voting rights
Fri, 10 May 2013Ford Motor Company has a dual-class stock structure of Class A and Class B shares. The roughly three billion Class A shares are for the general public like you and me, while the roughly 71 million Class B shares are all owned by the Ford family. Each Class A share gets the shareholder one vote, each Class B share is worth 16 votes, the result being that Common Stock holders control about 60 percent of the company while the Ford family controls 40 percent even though it holds far fewer shares. The only way that could ever change would be if the Fords sell their Class B shares, but even so, Class B shares revert to Class A when sold outside the family, so they'd have to sell a whole bunch of them.
A contingent of Class A shareholders think the dual-class system is unfair, and for the past few years a vote's been held during the annual shareholders meeting to end it. It has failed every time, as it just did again during the meeting held this week. A smidge over 33 percent voted to end the dual system, outvoted by the 67 percent who are happy with the way Ford is going - unsurprising in view of a corporate turnaround that will be part of business-class curricula for years to come.
On the sidelines, Ford elected Ellen R. Marram to the post of independent director, the first woman to hold the job. The former Tropicana CEO and 20-year Ford board member replaces retiring board member Irvine Hockaday who helped bring Alan Mulally to the CEO position.
