2003 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer 4x4 V-10 w/ 83,000 miles. Exterior is in very good condition and interior is in excellent condition for the age / mileage. Leather. Center-row captain's. Heated seats. Cold A/C.  Adjustable pedals.  Keyless entry and keypad entry.

Within the past 7,000 miles, I've done the following to the truck:
- (4) new Bilstein Shocks
- (4) new 285/75/16 Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S Tires
- New front brake calipers and Ford Super Duty pads and 4-wheel brake fluid flush
- New alternator
- New Interstate Battery
- Full 18-qt transmission flush Castrol ATF (not just 6-qt drain and fill)
- Front and rear differential fluid change (Mobil 1 Synthetic and Royal Purple Synthetic)
- Transfer case oil Mobil 1 synthetic

Truck is very solid - no creaks or squeaks. Engine idles like glass and accelerates smoothly through gears.

Interior carpet, headliner and seats are excellent (with exception of driver seat leather cracking).  Two front floor mats have glue residue from iron-on football helmet patches that I removed - carpet beneath floor mats is perfect.  Exterior paint is excellent with typical paint chips from road debris - one small paint chip on driver door about the size of a dime.  Any light surface corrosion on chassis has been neutralized with Black Star.

KBB retail is around $17,000.  Please email with questions.  I'm motivated to sell for fair price - send me an offer.

On this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski. The duo discuss the leaked Jeep Gladiator, Ford's Baby Bronco, the Aston Martin DBX, and then touch on other reborn names like the Honda Pilot. Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber

Sat, Dec 27 2014

There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle – in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI – inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center – Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it – scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond. Ford Mondeo classes up with premium Vignale trim

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Back in the day, Vignale was a carrozzeria of the highest order, alongside the likes of Pininfarina, Bertone and Zagato. But like Giugiaro-ItalDesign and Ghia, it has since been subsumed into a larger auto group. Ford ended up with it under its umbrella when it took over De Tomaso, and has since used the moniker for a number of concept cars. Now the name is back in the form of a new upscale sub-brand for the European market.
The first new model to receive the Vignale treatment is the Mondeo, which Ford unveiled here at the Frankfurt Motor Show in both sedan and wagon forms. Positioned above the Titanium trim, the Vignale model gets such special touches as chrome trim and a quilted leather interior, Vignale badges replacing any mention of the Mondeo on which it's based. It also gains an ownership experience - including free car washes for life! - to befit the upscale positioning.
Under the bright spotlights above the show floor, the Nocciola metallic brown paint might not be the most photogenic, but will likely give the Vignale edition a more premium look when it hits European dealers and roads in 2015. Whether it'll be worth however much Ford asks for it, however, remains to be seen. Scroll down below for the official press release.
