Amazing and beautiful 2003 Excursion Limited that has had all the important things done to it mechanically. All have been done by Ford mechanic in May/June of 2013. Here is what has been done up to date...High Pressure oil pump. Injector control pressure regulator, new oil cooler, head gaskets, ARP headstuds, #1 and #4 injectors are new, IPR Gen 2 EGR delete w/ stainless up-pipe, 3.5 strait pipe from turbo out, 6.4 liter banjo bolts in the fuel feed lines to each head, new injector o rings, new oil stand pipes that feed oil rail, and new coolant filter. Has stock exhaust, turbo and remaining injectors. Everything checks out great when hooked up to the computer. Has a SCT tuner but this Excursion has not been rodded or abused at all! Has a Bilstein lift that has been done right. Tires are in decent shape but will probably need replaced by next winter. 4wd works great. Has an aftermarket JVC stereo that is blue tooth, xm or USB ready. Due to this being installed, the factory DVD player is currently unhooked and not working. Have never tried to hook it back up because it wasn't an issue. Also because of this aftermarket stereo the volume controls on the steering wheel don't work but all the other steering wheel controls do. The A/C and rear A/C work awesome! The transmission is stock and origional. So is the front end but it has been checked out and no problems found. It has the newer Harley Davidson grill conversion done to it and it looks great!!! No rust anywhere. Interior is in above average shape. Driver seat is a bit worn where you slide in and out. No stains or tears, rips anywhere else. It has backup sensors but they are off because it sits too high. I hope I've put as much information as I can think you would need. If not just ask and I will do my best to get back to you. I promise this is a very well taken care of Excursion that you won't be scared to get in and drive anywhere!!!!

Hennessey Ford GT sets 267.6-MPH record at Texas Mile [w/videos]

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

The record-setting Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT we showed you at this time last year headed back to the Texas Mile and managed to bring home yet another record. As you may recollect, last year saw Mark Heidraker's machine sprint to a record 257.7 mph thanks to propulsion from its twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8. The big mill sucks down race gas, and this year the creation pulled off a 267.6-mph run over the weekend. That feat set a new record for the event. Something tells us neither Heidraker nor Hennessey are done squeezing more thrust from this machine.
This particular Ford GT has already gone through a number of permutations. Hennessey started by tweaking the factory supercharger set up before abandoning the blower in favor of two turbos. Since then, the crew has poked and prodded it to coerce as much grunt as possible out of the car. We expect Hennessey will probably come out with a video of the record-setting run shortly, but in the meantime, you can see a couple of videos of the car's runs in Texas below (one of which actually captures the record run). Enjoy.

Ford builds two-millionth EcoBoost engine

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Ford's EcoBoost engine lineup is only four years old, but it is growing into an important and popular global engine. As proof of its popularity, Ford just produced its 2 millionth EcoBoost engine - a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder - which rolled off the assembly line in Louisville, Kentucky under the hood of an Escape.
Ford now offers five EcoBoost engines around the world ranging from the 1.0-liter inline-three to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, and the automaker is expanding production of two of its engine lines to keep up with demand. Earlier this year, Ford announced that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost would be built in Cleveland, Ohio starting in 2014 and, more recently, Ford said that it will be doubling production of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost in Germany. That turbo-three will also be produced in China at a new Ford engine plant in Chongqing.
Scroll down for Ford's full press release on this EcoBoost production milestone, including a breakdown of where all the engines were made.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
