2001 Ford Excursion Limited Sport/utility Suv W/5.9l Dodge Cummins Engine!!! on 2040-cars
Tahlequah, Oklahoma, United States
I am selling our 2001 Ford Excursion Limited Sport/Utility SUV. This was our family SUV but our family has downsized and we no longer need a vehicle of this size. In 2011 we had a professional mechanic change out the 7.3L Turbo Power Stroke engine for a 1992 Dodge Cummins 5.9L engine. The Dodge engine has about 175,000 miles on it. It has the original Ford transmission in it and I had it totally rebuilt in 2012 about 4,000 miles ago. The torque converter was changed to be compatible with the Dodge Cummins engine, and an electronic shift controller has been installed. At approximately 200,000 miles I had the ball joints and the steering box replaced, that was over $2000. The original brake rotors were changed for ventilated rotors. This SUV runs great and includes a towing package. It does have some cosmetic flaws which I have pointed out in the pictures. I have also uploaded a video of its performance to youtube.com and have posted a link to it so that you can view it and hear it running, 2001 Ford Excursion with Diesel Cummins Engine! . This SUV books over $11,000! If you have any other questions you can call me at (918) 207-9041.

Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70
Sun, 20 Jul 2014We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.
Ford builds Lightweight Concept with Fusion shell [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014It's a fairly well known fact that removing weight from a car is essentially a panacea for many of the modern automobiles problems. Does it handle like crap? Remove weight. Underpowered? Don't add power; trim the fat. Need to improve fuel economy? It's diet time.
Actually executing a major weight reduction program, though, much like with human beings, is no easy task. Unlike you or I, where motivation is the issue, the prohibitive measure in trimming a car's waistline is money. Lightweight materials are expensive, with carbon fiber and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic still primarily in the domain of higher end vehicles. Even aluminum construction, pioneered on a mass-produced level by Audi and Jaguar, is only now starting to make its way into the mainstream, thanks to the upcoming Ford F-150.
With this concept, though, Ford is attempting to show that a mass-produced, lightweight vehicle isn't too far off. This is the Lightweight Concept, and while it may look like a Fusion, it weighs as much as a Fiesta. For reference, the lightest Fusion available to the public is the 3,323-pound, 2.5-liter model with a manual transmission. A manually equipped, 1.6-liter Fiesta, meanwhile, is just 2,537 pounds.
2015 Ford Mustang GT Line-Lock Burnout
Mon, 03 Nov 2014In this brief Short Cut, Autoblog's Steven Ewing demonstrates Line-Lock on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Accessed through an on-screen performance menu, the feature temporarily locks the front brakes to help you heat up the rear tires for better traction, as you would for drag racing. The result? A 15-second smokescreen.
