2001 Ford Excursion Limited with the BEST ford diesel engine ever, the famous 7.3 liter* power stroke*
It took me awhile to find this vehicle and if I wasnt selling all my race cars and already sold my trailer I would *never* sell this vehicle
It will pull anything and you cannot even tell there is something behind you
Has the heavy duty hitch and electronic trailer brake assist upgrades
Like new mechanically and excellent interior and Paint
It has factory paint, no damage history and no rust underneath
Never driven in winter and used 6 to 12 times a year to haul my race car
I take the truck to Haag Ford in Lawrenceburg IN and have fully inspected each spring and tell them to fix anything that could possibly cause a problem regardless of cost as I never wanted any issues towing
Glow plugs replaced and new ball joints and brand new factory dealer installed transmission and battery.
This extremely nice large SUV is ready to drive anywhere and clean
There is absolutely zero things wrong with this vehicle mechanically and is as dependable as day one
I spend 4,000 $$ on it making it perfect just so it would never leave me stranded with my trailer
I have a fair amount of money in this vehicle but am motivated to sell due to space and no longer racing cars
The transmission and glow plugs never went fully out but ford computer said needed changed and they are honest so it was done
Upgraded exhaust, factory tuned and will start right up even after I store it in my detached garage all winter!
Kids sit in back and watch movies on wireless headphones on factory installed Movie player that still works
Excellent for hauling, vacations with lots of seating and  cargo space or for hauling boats and a couple of families to lake in one vehicle

Popular Science magazine's Best Of What's New 2012 all ate up with cars

Tue, 20 Nov 2012

Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.

Americans will get a four-cylinder Ford Mustang after all? [w/poll]

Sat, 09 Mar 2013

Ask and you shall receive. Remember that previous report suggesting that the 2015 Ford Mustang getting a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and that it would be sold in Europe only and not the United States? Well, according to Road & Track, the rumor is only partially true - The Mustang will get the engine, but it is indeed coming to America.
Additionally, according to RT, the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to serve as the base engine, and since it offers up a stout 305 horsepower in its current form, it's likely that the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost will produce a bit more than that. At the top of the range, the Mustang GT will continue to soldier on with a V8 engine, which should continue to send over 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
Finally, while we agree 100 percent with RT's heartfelt request for a paddle-shift automatic, we certainly expect that the EcoBoost 'Stang will be offered with a manual transmission as standard equipment. This is a Mustang, after all...

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.
