I am selling my 2001 Ex with the Legandary 7.3 L Diesel. I bought this truck back in March of this year, and some personal matters have taken place. I can no longer afford to keep it, and I need something more practical to haul my kids around. It's a really nice truck.  It catches a lot of eyes, and has plenty of power for hauling.  I hauled my Jeep 500 miles with it with no problems whatsoever.

Truck has 207,000 miles.  If you do your research, or know anything about these engines, there is easily another 200-300K left in it.

Truck has full leather with 3rd row seating and rear air.  Seats and carpet are in nice shape

The front end has been upgraded to a 2005 Harley Davidson Edition.  The front headlights have an HID upgrade kit.

8" Fabtech suspension lift with front Dirt logic 4.0 coil overs and rear air bags. The lift alone was $12,000.

38X15.50 R20 Toyo Open Country MTs mounted on 20X10 black Jesse James wheels.  Tires in decent shape.  They still have several miles left in them.  2 of the wheels have a slight color variation.  Looks to me like someone used some type of cleaner on them, and they blemished the wheel. I included pics.  I was looking at replacing them when I replaced the tires.

I bought the truck out of Florida, and the roof is oxidized.  I got an estimate on repainting the roof for $400.  Granted, that wasn't a showroom paint job, but the roof is 8 feet off the ground and it doesn't need to be.  You can't see the roof.  I thought the $400 estimate was fair.

There is a small oil leak.  I had it checked out by the dealer and it needs a crankcase vent filter.  It goes on top of the left valve cover.  The price of the filter is $200.

There is a check engine light that has been on since I bought it.  The code is waste gate sensor.  The dealer said it was probably a bad solenoid.  I didn't worry about it because it had to do with emissions, and not engine.  The truck drives with no issues.

It does not have a steering stabilizer on it.  I was going to put one on it, but frankly, I've gotten used to it.  It drives a little loose, but not too bad.  I drove it home 15 hours from Florida running 80 MPH with no issues. You can get a dual steering stabilizer for as little as $135.

There is a JL Audio Sub mounted in the spare tire.  These are the best subs money can buy. The amp for the sub is under the rear seat, and all door speakers have been upgraded to MTX.  I just put a new Clarion Double Din receiver in with Bluetooth.

Since I bought the truck in March, I've replace both batteries with Optima Red top batteries. Those were $400.  I put a new alternator ($200) on in May.  Both rear corner panel windows are new.  The seals were shot from the Florida sun and both windows leaked.  I couldn't buy new seals, since the seals came already mounted to the glass.  The windows were $500 a piece. I also added the black bull bar on the front which is believe was around $200.

The passenger rear window is a little slow coming back up.

I am an honest seller.  I have described this truck honest and fairly.  The things this truck needs are minimal and minor.  Overall, the truck in is great shape.  Seats, carpet, and paint are all nice. Engine runs like it should, and 4WD shifts in and out smoothly.  Both fuel filters were just replaced.

As always.. it is best for you to see this truck in person before buying.  Shipping is the buyers responsibility, but I am more than happy to assist.  I will be here when the truck is loaded and I will take pictures of the whole process if you prefer.  If you choose to pick up, I can meet you at the airport with the truck in Paducah, KY.  That airport is 30 miles from my house.  It is a small airport, and more expensive to fly into.  If the cost of the ticket is too expensive, I will meet in Nashville, TN, or St. Louis, MO. Both of those airports are roughly 3 hours from my house. I will do that at my own expense.

Truck has clear title.  If you need specific pictures or more information, feel free to call or text 270-705-0815.

Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells.  Even on the day of the auction close.

Carfection looks for the ultimate pocket rocket

Fri, Mar 18 2016

If there's one thing we love, it's a good showdown. Especially when it's on video, done by some Englishmen, and involving some manner of performance machinery. Like this latest clip, for example, from Carfection. The team formerly known as Xcar have assembled three very compelling supermini hot hatches: two we can get on our side of the pond, and one we can't. One American, one Frenchman, and one Brit. One cheap, one expensive, and one somewhere in between. They all pack turbo fours, of course, but placed in entirely different packages. There's the evergreen favorite Ford Fiesta ST, the Renault Clio RS 220 Trophy that should have the rest licked, and the retro rocket that is the Mini JCW. And there's only one way to find out which is the best. It's a tough contest, to be sure, but lest you think it all comes down to specifications or which one's the newest, you'll want to think again. Because when it comes to hot hatches, all the electronic gizmos and power boosts in the world can't show up a perfectly dialed-in chassis that lets you hug the curves and feel like you're going a lot faster than you actually are. But don't take our word for it – see what our British friends have to say about it in the Queen's English in the seventeen-minute clip above. Related Video:

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.

Win a car while supporting a charity this holiday season

Thu, Dec 9 2021

Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. No donation or payment necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze.  The leaves have fallen, there is a crispness to the air and there have already been multiple forecasts of snow, which can only mean one thing: We're coming up on Christmas. While you've been busy thinking about what kind of gifts you're going to give your loved ones, we here at Autoblog have been deciding which dream car we'd like to see in our driveway on Christmas morning. A car for Christmas does seem a bit extreme and expensive, but thanks to these Omaze sweepstakes, it doesn't have to break the bank. Here are the current sweepstakes we'd like to win this holiday season. Win a DeLorean DMC-12 - Enter at Omaze James Riswick, West Coast Editor: Let me be clear, the DeLorean is a pretty terrible car. Its speedometer doesn't even go up to the fabled 88 mph. Seriously, look at the pictures: tops out at 85. Also, who services a DeLorean? And how much would it cost to maintain one? $AlloftheMoney or just $MostoftheMoney? So owning it could be a total headache, but at least by winning one through Omaze, you'd be relieved of the financial burden of buying one in the first place. You'd also get the chance to own one of the most iconic cars of all time, one that transcends car enthusiasm and is instantly recognizable by everyone as the "Back to the Future" car. Plus, "everyone" doesn't know that the DeLorean was actually a pretty terrible car. So, I already own James Bond's car from 1995, why not Doc Brown's from 1985? Win a 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8 - Enter at Omaze Eddie Sabatini, Production Manager: Why am I choosing a +$200K Bentley SUV? Because even if I could afford one I'd never be able to wrap my head around spending money on one. So why not try to win one by donating what I can afford to a good cause? I first saw the Bentley Bentayga up close and personal at the Frankfurt Motor Show (I forget which year but I'll never forget this SUV). And although it looks like the Bentayga Omaze is offering up doesn't have the opulent tailgate setup I fell in love with when I saw it in Frankfurt, I'd still enter to win. Win a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda - Enter at Omaze Byron Hurd, Editor: Few automotive marketing efforts stick out in my head more than the Mercedes-Benz holiday spots and magazine placements.
