Low miles, 98k, original owner of clean 2001 Ford Excursion limited 7.3l diesel .   Selling because my kids are all grown up.  This was used as the family hauler to the mountains and highway trips.  It was used for towing a rental trailer twice, and is setup with Prodigy break controller.   Body is good but has normal wear and tear.  Gets great highway gas mileage 17+mpg.  And nearly 700mi on a tank of fuel. All service performed by professional diesel mechanic.

Normal ford 7.3 issues have been covered on this vehicle, including high pressure lines early in it’s life (under warranty), cam position sensor, transmission range sensor alternator., etc.  Door locks have been replaced (common ford issue).  Front brakes and rotors were replaced last year, shocks 2 years ago.   Recent fuel filter, oil and filter change (Shell Rotella synthetic oil only).  New windshield (2 weeks ago), and new battery.  AC works great.  Non smoker, no unusual odors, clean interior.  Right rear taillight was pushed in slightly and has minor body crease (trailer accident) see picture.  Otherwise vehicle has never been wrecked and had no body work.

The truck runs and drives excellent. The 7.3L engine starts right up hot or cold with no issues. Plenty of power and plenty of torque. The automatic tranny is smooth and it shifts perfect with no problems. 4x4 engages in and out as it should.

Has a pioneer head unit CD/MP3/AUX  and 6 Boston acoustic speakers, 450 watt alpine amp under rear seat

Clean title, Cash or cash equivalent.  No trades.  Local pickup in Denver Colorado.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.

Ford Recalls '13 Escape For 11th Time

Fri, Aug 15 2014

Only in dealer showrooms for two years now, the 2013 Ford Escape has already been recalled for safety hazards 11 times. The most recent recall for the beleaguered vehicle came Friday, when the company announced it was recalling almost 160,000 Escapes and Focus ST hatchbacks from the '13 and '14 model years because of a wiring problem that could cause the engine to stall. Caused by a faulty wiring harness, Ford said the defect could result in reduced power, hesitation or outright stalling. The company said it knew of no crashes or injuries caused by the flaw. Customers affected will be notified by mail. It was the latest problem for a vehicle beset by recalls from the moment it started rolling off the assembly lines. Starting on July 6, 2012, the '13 Escapes have been recalled for an assortment of problems, including multiple hazards with fuel lines that could result in engine fires, fluid leaks in the engine that could also result in fires, problems with engines overheating, delays in airbags deploying and more. Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.
