Nice 2000 Excursion Limited 4 wheel drive loaded with options 3rd row seating great for big families and you can tow anything with ease. Has the proven 7.3 Powerstroke diesel engine which not only has plenty of torque and power but gets exceptional fuel mileage. Turbocharger was recently replaced with a factory replacement made by Garrett with new plumbing and a recently installed programmer for fuel mileage and a little more power. It actually gets 2 mpg better than it did stock and has more power. It can be taken off or you can program it back to stock by a hand held controller but I don't know why it runs better and fuel economy is   awesome. Has 4" custom exhaust as well. Transmission shifts firm and smooth and truck has new 18" custom wheels and 265-70R-18 Nitto radials which have 50% tread. No rust issues whatsoever I went to Florida and purchased it and the frame and body are rust free and frame is not all scaled up like the up north ones I looked at when I was in the market. Interior is nice but the usual cracking is there on the drivers seat and I just put factory seat covers on which look almost factory and I did both seats. Paint is in great condition for being 14 years old no major scratches dings or dents. Has a spot on the rear door that was touched up and a very small spot on the hood. Everything works except the overhead temp/mileage gauge might be a fuse or something unhooked. Front and rear A/C and heat power windows/locks/mirrors/seats and it does have a small ding in the front bumper. Also has back-up sensors factory towing package with nice brake controller. Truck is sold as is no warranty and I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime it is also advertised locally. I require a $500 deposit 24hrs after auctions end with balance due within 5 days of auctions end. These trucks are hard to find especially in this condition. There are no check engine lights or mechanical issues I am aware of. Had ball joints replaced at 182k miles truck is well maintained oil changed and greased every 4500 miles. I used it for towing my boat and just sold the boat and I really don't use it much anymore. Truck is not perfect but for its age I would say its in excellent condition but it is 14 years old your not paying $45k but only a fraction of that so if you want something that looks brand new then buy brand new. Overall considering age and miles I would say its an 8 on a 1-10. NO 0 FEEDBACK bidders please. Also truck is leak free no engine oil or transmission leaks. Overall its a great vehicle and has an awesome look. Any questions call 443-398-7271 and I will be happy to answer any you may have. Most of my auctions end with a phone call so don't miss out this is a good one ! I always encourage serious buyers to come out and look for yourself test drive and make sure this is what you want or have a 3rd party inspect for you. That way everyone is on the same page and there are no issues. When you bid and win its yours inspections are to be done before auction ends NOT AFTER. I describe things to the best of my ability and own some very high dollar classic cars and trucks and know what nice is. Some people I have dealt with on here think they are going to come out after winning an item and then do an inspection trying to nit pick and offer less money etc. If you are that type of person please do not bid. I am a very honest seller and there is nothing to hide. Don't miss out this is a good one with plenty of life left in her. Also in the pics the seat covers were just put on and were not drawn down tight which is done now and the more you sit on them the better they form to the seat. They original seats underneath are not hateful at all but it looks better with the covers. Thanks and good luck !

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.

Hennessey Ford GT sets 267.6-MPH record at Texas Mile [w/videos]

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

The record-setting Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT we showed you at this time last year headed back to the Texas Mile and managed to bring home yet another record. As you may recollect, last year saw Mark Heidraker's machine sprint to a record 257.7 mph thanks to propulsion from its twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8. The big mill sucks down race gas, and this year the creation pulled off a 267.6-mph run over the weekend. That feat set a new record for the event. Something tells us neither Heidraker nor Hennessey are done squeezing more thrust from this machine.
This particular Ford GT has already gone through a number of permutations. Hennessey started by tweaking the factory supercharger set up before abandoning the blower in favor of two turbos. Since then, the crew has poked and prodded it to coerce as much grunt as possible out of the car. We expect Hennessey will probably come out with a video of the record-setting run shortly, but in the meantime, you can see a couple of videos of the car's runs in Texas below (one of which actually captures the record run). Enjoy.

Ford also opening up EV, hybrid patents, with a price tag

Fri, May 29 2015

Like Tesla and Toyota before it, Ford is seeing the light when it comes to freeing up alternative powertrain patents. Of course, the Blue Oval does things differently, so free doesn't mean no cost. Instead of making its electric vehicle patents simply available to anyone, Ford is going to sell off its EV tech for an unspecified fee. Ford says it has 650 electrified vehicle patents and another 1,000 or so pending EV tech patent applications. Ford filed 400 such applications last year alone. To buy these patents, interested parties should contact Ford's technology commercialization and licensing office or work AutoHarvest. Or, you know, you could just go get Tesla patents for free. The jury is still out on whether these open patent programs are being used. The Tesla program, for example, didn't seem to be all that exciting to most OEMs right after it was announced. Ford has six vehicles with some sort of electrified powertrain: the Focus Electric, Fusion Hybrid and Energi PHEV, Ford C-MAX Hybrid and Energi plug-in hybrid and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The only full EV in that group, the Focus Electric, starts at $29,995. Ford Opens Portfolio of Patented Technologies to Competitors to Accelerate Industry-Wide Electrified Vehicle Development Ford is opening its portfolio of electrified vehicle technology patents to competitive automakers to accelerate industry-wide research and development of electrified vehicles In 2014, Ford filed for 400-plus electrified vehicle patents – more than 20 percent of the total patents the company applied for last year Ford is set to hire an additional 200 electrified vehicle engineers this year as the team moves into a newly dedicated facility – Ford Engineering Laboratories – home to Henry Ford's first laboratories DEARBORN, Mich., May 28, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is offering competitors access to its electrified vehicle technology patents – a move to help accelerate industry-wide research and development of electrified vehicles. In 2014, Ford filed more than 400 patents dedicated to electrified vehicle technologies. This is more than 20 percent of the patents the company filed – totaling more than 2,000 applications. "Innovation is our goal," said Kevin Layden, director, Ford Electrification Programs. "The way to provide the best technology is through constant development and progress.
