Here is an opportunity to own and drive a piece Ford history. There were lots of Escorts sold, but only a very limited number of S/R editions. With input from Jack Roush, the Ford special vehicles team made this a one-year only project, the S/R (street racer) was only sold publicly in the year 2000, with only 2000 total produced........1,000 Sulfer yellow, 500 red, 500 black. Factory updates over the regular ZX-2 include:

Iceman intake                     B & M short throw shifter

                    Leather shift boot              Centerforce clutch

                    Visteon PCM                      Tokico struts

                    Eibach lowering springs    Borla exhaust

                    205/55R15 tires                   Exclusive daizy wheels

Blue Ford valve cover        150 mph speedometer

S/R seats and mats             front & rear disc brakes

A 6-disc CD changer has also been added in the trunk. This was a "must" for my daughter who used the car to commute 100 miles a day to school. This vehicle has been in our family for the last 10 years and has been maintained with regular oil changes. Rear brakes have been completely rebuilt just 200 miles ago, front rotors and pads about a year ago, the battery is less than 2 years old, and the tires have only a few thousand miles on them. Runs and drives great. Uses no oil and has no fluid leaks. Everything on the car works well except the passenger window motor is tired. Odometer currently shows 134,600 miles, but the car looks and drives like half of that! Ask any questions and look at all the pictures to fully understand the quality of this vehicle. Car is fully drivable and inspected so you could come get it and drive it home. My sales requirements are pretty simple. I need a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 within 24 hours of auction end. The balance is due within 10 days and may be presented when you pick up the car if it is in the form of cash, certified check, Postal Money orders. No personal checks accepted unless they are mailed to me and cleared before delivery of car. Again, check out all the pictures and happy bidding.

Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin

Wed, 07 May 2014

Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.

Mustang GT350 reveal coming Nov 17?

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Ford looks to have something really big planned for the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Blue Oval has released the first of five teaser videos on the brand's performance heritage, and aside from some great images of racers over the years, the video includes a series of teaser images, the last of which points to November 17, 2014.
That's the day before press days open in LA, and considering the propensity of global automakers to plan lavish debuts the night before a major international auto show, it's a virtual certainty that Ford will be showing off some sort of special vehicle.
That'd be news in and of itself, but based on the images shown in Ford's teaser video - which include an Alcantara steering wheel, a "Powered by Ford" valve cover, aluminum pedals, sticky tires, a big, round exhaust tip, a honeycomb grille and a serious set of wheels - it seems very likely that Ford will be showing something performance oriented.

2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Supercrew

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

I'm not normally a pickup kind of guy, but the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor won me over nearly instantly. The street-legal trophy truck - there is really no other way to accurately describe it - is big, brawny and incredibly capable. Let's just say it's every bit the monster it visually portrays. I spent a week pretending I was one of Ford's Baja 1000 drivers, but lacking desert sand, I headed into the local mountains where a mild winter storm had dropped a couple inches of fresh snow on my favorite off-road park. The Ford was, for the most part, practically unstoppable.
Ford offers its SVT Raptor package on Supercab and Supercrew platforms with the five-foot, five-inch bed. The Supercrew I tested rides on a 144-inch wheelbase (about a foot longer than the Supercab). In addition to its cosmetic differences when compared to the standard F-150 - there isn't a young boy on the planet who doesn't think the matte black Ford grille is cool - the Raptor has a 73.6-inch track - nearly seven inches wider than the track on the standard F-150.
After upgrading the F-150 SVT Raptor significantly for the 2012 model year, there are only a few changes for 2013. The list includes standard high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, Hill Descent Control, forged beadlock-capable wheels, and the new matte Terrain color (aka "Desert Storm") option seen on my test model.
