Super Clean 2007 Ford Escape Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Stamford, Connecticut, United States
I am Selling my wife's beautiful 2007 Ford Escape. It is a very clean, SUV that has been adult driven and in very good overall condition and was always garaged. The miles are almost all highway miles. We have always kept it immaculately clean and we had it detailed every 3 months. I don't think there are very many cars you can find in better shape. I have had no issues with the car and it has ran very well for us, probably because we have always performed every service and oil change since we bought the car. As a matter of fact the ONLY reason we are selling it is because I am getting a company car and she will take my car which is only 2 years old. Everything in the car is in good working order and the car has no rust. The breaks we recently done along with a full tune up. Oil change was just done last week. I just had the car professionally detailed which cost $400.00. It also has brand new tires which have no more than 400 miles on them and a new Interstate battery. The tires cost over $800.00 mounted with tax! Please email or call me with any questions at 203-515-0456. There are 2 small chips in the windshield that could probably be fixed without replacing the windshield. I know Escapes they are in high demand because of their great reliability record (2007's are ranked 4.7 stars out of 5) along with good gas mileage and all wheel drive. There are other listings as high as $10,000 (and even $11,500 from dealers) and with the cleanness of this car along with the new tires I am sure I can get $9,500 but I am selling it for $8,500. Please take a good look at the pictures. This car is one of those great deals you don't find very often. |

Ford Transit gets outfitted for prison duty
Wed, 24 Sep 2014Between the Taurus-based Police Interceptor, the Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility and the F-150 and Expedition special service vehicles, Ford has no lack of offerings for law enforcement. And now it has one more in the form of the new Transit PTV.
Based on the fullsize Transit van, the Prisoner Transport Vehicle can move as many as 12 prisoners in three separate compartments between detention facilities. Created in collaboration with Pennsylvania-based Havis Prisoner Transport Solutions and with input from Ford's Police Advisory Board, the Transit PTV takes advantage of the Transit's considerable configuration options that include three roof heights, two wheelbases, three lengths and four body-styles - not to mention engine options that include the flex-fuel 3.7-liter V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost and 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel.
"Transit PTV is the latest example of Ford's deep commitment to helping provide law enforcement agencies with capable vehicles. This concept proves Transit is upfit-ready and designed to Built Ford Tough standards," said Jonathan Honeycutt, Ford police marketing manager. "Many Police Advisory Board members have had the chance to drive this vehicle and they are excited about it. This new vehicle is tough, smart and efficient - ideal for the needs of law enforcement agencies."
Ford Green Zone works magic with GPS to make your drive smarter, cleaner
Fri, Aug 29 2014For the most part, plug-in hybrids rely on the power stored in the battery until that charge is depleted. Unless the switch can be changed manually, it's only then that the cars fire up the internal combustion engine and begin using the fossil fuels on board. This is ideal, of course, when one's drive isn't long enough that the car needs to start sipping gasoline at all. On longer commutes, when it's certain that the route is longer than the car's all-electric range, this isn't necessarily the most efficient use of energy. Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds. Ford is working on a smart system, based on Nokia mapping technology, that uses GPS data to use both the electricity and conventional fuel more efficiently. Since battery power is less efficient at highway speeds, Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds, rather than just using up all the electrons right at the beginning of the drive. Using a website or the in-car navigation system, the driver can pinpoint the parts of the route, highlighted in green, where using battery power would be more effective, and set the car to automatically switch to electricity for those sections. Depending on the route, the car could automatically switch back and forth between the two power sources multiple times, particularly if the drive is a mix between city and highway driving. Of course, Green Zone will be go beyond that. The program is being developed to take traffic and road grade into account, details that allow the car to be make even smarter choices to improve efficiency. Ford even hopes to have Green Zone learn driver habits, and respond accordingly depending on who is driving the car. The system could control other features as well, such as anticipating corners and shifting the headlights to better illuminate the road ahead. Green Zone could also potentially use information from vehicle-to-vehicle networking to control functions in the car. The Green Zone system still has a few years before it will be ready to be put into production vehicles, but Ford is confident it will make its way onto the road eventually. As with other innovations that improve efficiency and make our vehicles smarter, we can expect to see similar technology from other manufacturers, until it becomes a regular part of driving in the future.
