Very good low mile, Alaska vehicle with a strong & powerful engine. Auto start works well. Has engine heater to keep engine warm during winter weather. Cannot do doughnuts due to traction control feature. Did not install studded tires last winter and car performed beautifully. Never slipped or lost control.

Comes equipped with standard sized towing receiver. Already wired for towing. I've towed with it many times. Very good tow vehicle. Can tow toys on toy trailers, can tow work trailers, or small travel trailer without problem.

Plug in ipod or cellphone, sound comes from vehicle speakers. Very nice to hear personal custom ipod or cellphone music or programs over vehicle speaker.

I've owned it for about 2.5 years. Selling vehicle due to moving out of state. Don't want the expense of driving it down to Florida. Before I bought it, I had a certified mechanic do complete check as it is a reconstructed title. Mechanic said it is a good vehicle and would buy it himself. Runs very well. No issues at all. No leaks. New brake pads as of late 2013. Current on maintenance needs. I  use Mobil 1 long mileage synthetic motor oil in it. Still has about 5k miles before oil needs changed.

Tan and grey interior. Tinted windows.

Why Edmunds took a sledgehammer to its 2015 Ford F-150

Tue, Jan 27 2015

The discussion around repair bills for the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 pickup continued from the beginning of last year to the end, and haven't abated; as an aside, some Tesla Model S owners have been shocked at disquieting repair estimates for minor damage to their aluminum wunder-sedans. Edmunds decided to inject some fact into the fray: it bought a $52,000 long-term 2015 F-150 and clouted it with an eight-pound sledgehammer. Twice. The rear of the bedside took the impacts since it couldn't be replaced, it would have to be repaired. To the pickup's credit, the only reason associate editor Travis Langness hit it twice was that the first sledgehammer blow didn't do as much damage as Edmunds wanted. After the second, the visible damage included the two direct impacts, a few creases, and a cracked taillight, so they drove the pickup to Santa Monica Ford to get an estimate, complete with a fictitious story about how the damage occurred and the mercy plea that Langness was paying for the repair out-of-pocket. In Part 2 Langness hits on some of the details with getting the truck fixed, such as the massively expensive taillight and the list of tools Ford recommends dealers have to work on aluminum. But he was promised he'd have his truck back in seven days, and Santa Monica Ford got it back to him in seven days. In Part 3 we get the bill. It's not small, but it's quite a bit less than it could have been if the service manager had charged Edmunds the official labor rate for aluminum. We're not going to spoil it here, so check out the videos above and below for the beginning and the end, and head over to Edmunds for the complete story about how it all happened and some riffing on the repair numbers. FBI investigating recently fired Ford engineer for espionage

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Agents of the FBI are investigating a potential case of industrial espionage involving a recently fired Ford employee. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer had its world headquarters searched by FBI agents on July 11, and according to The Detroit News, had warrants to seize recording devices handed over to Ford by Sharon Leach, a now-former Ford engineer.
Leach, who had spent 17 years with the Blue Oval, was fired last month, after Ford Security relieved her of eight Sansa listening devices. The FBI got involved shortly after her dismissal, searching her home on June 20 and seizing some two dozen items, including computers, jump drives and financial records, according to warrants obtained by The News.
Ford has remained quiet on the matter, with spokeswoman Susan Krusel confirming that the automaker was working with the FBI as part of a "joint investigation," while declining to provide any additional details.

Wrap up some fun with Ford's commercial vehicle configurator

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed - Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.
We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.
