Rare Quigley Conversion 4x4 Ford E350 Lifted Extended Van Sportsmobile on 2040-cars
Medford, Oregon, United States
Rare Quigley conversion 4x4 Ford E350 extended passenger van. It has been lifted about 6", has 35" tires and 18" Centerline Kodiak racing wheels. The Bushwaker fender flares are brand new, also added the factory Ford running boards and a nice 200w Pioneer Stereo system with new 6x9 speakers front and rear and an Infinity 300w powered subwoofer behind the drivers seat.
This van is in very good mechanical condition, it runs, shifts and drives great, no problems with it. Front and rear a/c both work good. The engine is the very reliable Triton 5.4l V8. The van has had all the work and maintenance done by a mechanic friend of mine that works at the Ford dealership in town. In the past year I have had the radiator, water pump, alternator, battery, front shocks and brakes replaced with new ones.
I have owned the van for 9 years and used it for my Aquarium business to transport large aquariums around. It has always been a great vehicle for us and gets tons off attention anywhere we go with it. It had a vehicle wrap on it for a few years, the wrap was removed but there are still a few small traces of the adhesive in the hard to get to cracks and crevices. It also comes with the last 2 rows of seats and mounting brackets (no mounting bolts or seat belts though). The only issues are very minor, it has one broken exhaust stud. It came that way when I got it 9 years ago and in no way effects how it runs, not worth the cost of repairing. It has a small ding just under the rear right window above the license plate. The tires have approx. 25% tread and will need to be replaced soon.
The van has 118k actual miles on it, at 27k miles the registration mistakenly got recorded as 127k miles but 118k is the true mileage on the vehicle. It has normal wear and tear associated with a work truck but overall in very good condition. Only reason I am selling is that I got a brand new truck and just don't need a vehicle this large anymore. I will miss it, it has been super fun to drive and will carry just about anything with room to spare!

Bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta hams it up for International Bacon Day
Wed, 28 Aug 2013This is a bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta. It is a real thing, that a real, multi-billion-dollar company designed. And it isn't even April Fools' Day. Designed for International Bacon Day, which is also apparently a thing, the 2014 Fiesta is finished in Green Envy paint - we're told black paint, like the color of a skillet, made the car look camouflaged - and features 10 gigantic decals depicting strips of tender, cured bacon.
The design, which was approved by the CEO of Benton's Country Hams, Allan Benton, show off the depth of Ford's Custom Graphics program. Unbelievably, Ford will actually start offering bacon decals to everyday customers, including (and we can't believe we're writing this) dual bacon racing stripes which will no doubt have Carroll Shelby spinning and/or salivating in his grave, and a "side of bacon," which wraps a couple of strips over the rear wheels.
Benton, who Ford claims is the King of Bacon, had this to say: "This car just makes so much sense." The Fiesta's marketing manager, Liz Elser added, "It's just awesome to drive down the road in a piece of bacon."
NHTSA closes Ford F-150 EcoBoost acceleration probe
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Typically when we report on the findings of an investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's because the government body has discovered a safety issue and prescribed a recall. In this case, however, NHTSA has closed an investigation into a reported performance deficit without ever getting to the recall stage.
The issue revolves around the Ford F-150 - specifically those equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine - of which some 360,000 were built in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. After receiving an initial 95 complaints, NHTSA opened an investigation last May - almost a year ago - into the reported issue of reduced engine power under hard acceleration. The agency has since received a total of 525 such complaints, and Ford itself reported receiving over 4,000.
Together, NHTSA and Ford determined that the problem resulted from cylinders misfiring, an issue itself stemming from water getting into the charge air cooler (CAC) mated to the turbochargers. In particularly humid or rainy conditions, water was found to get into the CAC, causing some of the cylinders to misfire, which in turn triggered the ECU to disable those cylinders in order to protect the catalytic converter from damage.
Ford Mustang hit by Moore' Oklahoma's EF5 tornado lives to do another burnout
Fri, 07 Jun 2013Oklahoma recently saw the destructive power of an EF5 tornado, but in the aftermath of the devastation, we've also been witness to the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Moore, OK resident Jack Haden survived the storm but found that his 2003 Ford Mustang wasn't quite as lucky. As you can see in the image above, the tornado's 200+ mph winds did quite a number on the car, but while most people would have likely called their insurance company and scrapped the car, Haden had other plans.
After finding the car and seeing that its V6 still fired up, Haden spent a couple hours getting the car, um... roadworthy(?)... by removing the doors and front clip, cutting off the roof and putting on some new wheels and tires. He noticed that driving it around brought some comic relief to an area that needed a reason to laugh and smile. Check out the KSBI TV news report video below showing before and after pictures of the tough 'Stang, as well as a video showing the newly lightweight coupe doing a smoky burnout.
