Where to start- at the beginning I suppose. This vehicle was sent from the dealer to an approved Ford up fitter for
4x4 conversion- Clydesdale 4x4- utilizing all Ford components from '05+ model F-350 4x4: axles, T-case, springs
(coils), etc. The van was sold to the first owner to transport people in it's original 15 seat configuration. After
2 years, an individual purchased it for a very few months in hopes of building it into an Expedition rig, which he
quickly realized was a bigger endeavor than he felt comfortable undertaking. Then, having an uncle with a Ford
dealership, we purchased the van through him to extend the factory bumper to bumper warranty a year, and the
driveline/powertrain warranty to 100k miles, and she only sits at 39k miles now!!
So, first the base truck: '13 E-350 EB 15 seat XLT, MSRP $49,979
-6.8 V-10, super tough and reliable
-5 speed automatic transmission with Tow/Haul
-4.10 max tow package with integrated brake controller
-reverse backing sensors
-running boards, privacy glass, and remote locking
Total to this point = $71,314
The second owner also had all the sills wrapped in clear vinyl, and entire truck rustproofed using Waxoyl- the best
available and very expensive as they start with entire steam clean of the underside!!
Then, on to my additions, which began with complete Ford 30k mile service and checkpoint to be approved for the
factory extended warranty. Finally the build as follows:
-Front bumper modified to incorporate Sterling Equipment (supplier for Florida Fish and Wildlife) HD brush guard
and winch mount
-new Ironman winch with remote
-Aluminess rear tire carrier
-Aluminess roof rack & side later. Rack has rear rollers and extra Yakima cross bars for boat cradles, etc
-5/ new Toyo AT-II tires, E rated, 34" 285/75-17
-upgraded head unit withUSB, Blue Tooth, and screen
-hard wired rear camera
-remote start
-removed 2nd and 3rd row seats to fit reclining Siena seats with leg rest (all orig seats included)
-custom brackets for Siena seats utilizing factory floor mounts
-8' rubber mat in rear to protect factory carpet
-rear LED light on separate circuit
-front LED fog lights on separate circuit
-front LED bar (with spot light provision) on separate circuit
-graphics are vinyl, and easily removable

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]
Wed, 20 Aug 2014No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:
Ford Tourneo ready for duty in Connect, Courier and Custom flavors [w/videos]
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Ford was relatively quiet at the Geneva Motor Show, but it did take the opportunity to roll out its new family of Tourneo vans: the Courier, Connect, Grand Connect and Custom. As the passenger version of the Transit cargo vans, the new range of Tourneo models vary from the B-segment Courier up to the fullsize Custom. The Connect and Grand Connect are based on the redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect.
With an overall length just three inches longer than the Fiesta hatchback, the Tourneo Courier seats four to five passengers, and it offers a choice of three engines: the 1.0-liter EcoBoost or two small diesels. Like the 2014 Transit Connect was saw in Paris last year, the Tourneo Connect comes in a five-seat configuration while the Grand Connect can seat seven. Finally, the Tourneo Custom seats up to nine passengers, and it is available in two lengths up to 210 inches long putting it just six inches shorter than a standard-length E-Series van and about a foot longer than the Explorer.

Weekly Recap: Diesel scandal continues to fuel VW's woes
Sat, Oct 3 2015Volkswagen's woes continued this week when it was delisted from the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and stripped of awards. Senators are also lining up to advocate for criminal and civil action against the automaker, and its consumer reputation is in tatters. Put simply, it's been another rough period for VW. Despite this, the company eked out a sales gain of less than one percent in September, though that was well behind the overall market's performance. Sister brand Audi, which sells a diesel A3, was less affected, posting a 16-percent gain in September. Revelations that Volkswagen rigged millions of diesel-powered cars around the world didn't surface until September 18, so the full sales impact of the ongoing scandal won't likely be felt until October. Meanwhile, VW's image continues to take a beating, and an AutoPacific survey found only one in 14 vehicle owners have a positive opinion of the company. Before the scandal broke, three-quarters of respondents had a positive view of VW. The survey also found 64 percent don't trust Volkswagen, though the same number believe other companies are or may also be using cheating devices to pass emissions tests. "The reputation of diesels has been severely damaged, at least for the short term," Ed Kim, AutoPacific's vice president of industry analysis, said in a statement. Despite the lingering malaise, experts believe VW will recover, just as Toyota and General Motors eventually emerged from their own high-profile controversies. "Consumers have proven through numerous recalls that they are resilient and quickly return to their buying habits," Kim said. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Mazda to reveal sports car concept in Tokyo Mazda will bring a curvy sports car concept to the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The automaker is being especially coy with the details, only releasing the dark teaser shot that you see to the right and a cryptic statement that suggests the concept "condense[s] Mazda's entire history of sports-car development into a single model." Immediately, speculation abounded this is an RX-7 and RX-8 successor, though Mazda didn't specify what engine the concept will have. Reportedly, the company is still working on rotary engines. Mazda will have a Cosmo Sport 110S on its stand in Tokyo, which pioneered rotary technology in 1967. Read into that what you will.
