2004 Ford E-350 Super Duty Base Standard Cargo Van 2-door 6.0l on 2040-cars
Roselle, Illinois, United States
This van was a municipal vehicle and as such has the sealed holes and markings on the roof from the old numbers. The van has several scratches in the paint and rust forming on the inside of the passenger door. It is missing the center portion of all four hubcaps. The van has a hole cut in the middle of the interior roof about a foot by a foot and a half, the material for it is still there but not attached. It has numerous scratches in the paint. The muffler is rusted and has a hole. The wear on the front tires I believe is an indication it needs an alignment although it drives straight for me . The underside of the van is showing some rust but is solid. Over all this vehicle appears to have been maintained well . I have had the vehicle for under a year. In that time the brake vacuum booster failed and was replaced. I added an older bench seat and a folding bed frame to the inside of the van. The bench seat is an older style with the lap belts attached. The fold down bench I removed the seats from and attached a sheet of half inch plywood to, it is able to accommodate a full size mattress with storage space underneath in the back of the van both the bench seat and frame are relatively easy to remove. I have the seats for the fold down bench available with the vehicle, I'm not sure that the seat mechanism works as i wasn't concerned with putting it up. This vehicle has been a dependable and solid driver for me since I purchased it last summer. It also has the rear heat and ac option on it which is functioning. The sliding side door works as it should. I have the metal partition that goes between the front seats and the cargo space, if you purchase the van you are welcome to have it with the vehicle as well as the benches. If any of these things are not wanted I will be happy to remove them after a deposit has been made and before pickup of the van. It has a two inch receiver trailer hitch and attachment for trailer lights. I installed Naugahyde blinds in the rear windows and a screen to cover the inside of the van from the front that hangs on the coat hooks behind the front seats. The blinds roll up and are secured by Velcro. It has an am/fm radio. This vehicle has a vinyl floor that is the worst for wear with some tears and stains but still functional. With the turbo diesel that is in this vehicle it has been alot of fun to drive which maybe sounds weird for a van but when the turbo is wound up it moves out. If you have numerous questions on this vehicle please feel free to email me and i will get back to you with my phone number as I will be happy to talk with you regarding the vehicle. This vehicle is posted for sale locally and if it sells before a sale here I reserve the right to cancel this posting. This vehicle is also still being driven and as such the mileage will likely be higher than currently posted. In regards to payment, within a twenty four hour period of the winning bid I request a five hundred dollar deposit into my pay-pal account. The remainder of the balance will be expected in cash or cashiers check at the time the vehicle is picked up. Would prefer pickup of vehicle within seven days of sale. Full payment of vehicle will be expected in the form of a cashiers check or cash within seven days of the sale.Vehicle is being sold as is. Thanks for looking.

Ford’s Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch win the 2022 Autoblog Technology of the Year award
Thu, Dec 1 2022The 2022 Autoblog Technology of the Year award goes to Ford for the Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch hauling and towing features found in the F-150 lineup. This new technology, as tested in the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, is a boon to pickup truck owners. Not only will it make observing your truck’s maximum loads easier and more intuitive, but it will also ensure youÂ’re hauling and towing in the safest-possible manner. We began the process with a long list of features to test and whittle down. Technologies like MercedesÂ’ new electric turbocharger, GMÂ’s Super Cruise with added towing capability and many more went through the consideration process, but we finally whittled the field down to just three finalists. They are: the GMC Hummer EV with its flashy CrabWalk four-wheel-steer technology, the Genesis GV60 with its facial recognition/fingerprint start technology, and of course FordÂ’s trucking gear. As is the norm for our Technology of the Year award, three main questions are asked, and editors assign point values based on how well the technologies perform in testing. How significant is this tech? How well does it work? And new for this year: Consider the Wow Factor. With the scores tallied, the Ford tech earned 123 points, topping the Hummer (117 points) and GV60 (108). This is the second straight win for Ford, which won the 2021 TOY Award with its Pro Power Onboard charging feature. Ford joins Tesla (2014, 2016) as the only two-time winner of our Tech of the Year Award, which dates to 2013. Kia, Cadillac, Tesla, BMW, Chevy, Chrysler and Audi technologies are among the previous winners. 2022 Technology of the Year testing View 16 Photos While systems that tow and haul may not seem to be the latest or most sophisticated tech, they remain essential and Ford uses things like the infotainment system, taillights and the Ford mobile app to create a forward-looking experience Henry Ford would never have dreamed of when the first Model Ts were outfitted with beds for farm and war duty in 1917. Even 10 years ago, integrating tech in this manner would have seemed futuristic, but Ford pulls it off. “FordÂ’s clever towing and hauling features earned our award this year because they are easy to use, easy to understand and simply make your life as a truck owner better,” Autoblog Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore said. “It was a competitive field this year, with HummerÂ’s CrabWalk and GenesisÂ’s Biometrics features both winning strong support.
Aussie Ford Falcon GT shows its rear end to Lamborghini Gallardo
Sun, 27 Apr 2014When Ford Australia announces, as it did recently, that it wants to celebrate the end of its Ford Performance Vehicle division with a Falcon FPV GT-F that celebrates big-bore origins of the nameplate, it's talking about the kind of car in this video.
At some point the classic Falcon GT - said to be an XY series - was invited to a test of acceleration against a Lamborghini Gallardo. At the very least, the Falcon GT had a 351 cubic-inch motor and 300 horsepower, but whatever this guy's got under the hood of his yellow sedan makes has him so confident that he doesn't even move his elbow from its resting place on the door.
You'll find a reminder of Ford Australia's heyday, a raucous exhaust note and some NSFW language in the short video below.
Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Mon, 10 Feb 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.
