THIS IS A 2002 FORD SHERROD CUSTOM CONVERSION VAN. IT HAS ONLY SEEN HIGHWAY DRIVING FOR VACATIONS AND SPORT TOURNAMENTS. IT HAS BEEN THE PLEASURE VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY. I PURCHASED IT NEW OFF OF THE DELIVERY TRUCK AND IT HAS ONLY HAD ONE OWNER AND ONE DRIVER EVER. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD AT LEAST THREE VEHICLES SO THIS TRUCK HAS SEEN LIMITED DUTY ON THE ROAD. IT IS HARDLY BROKEN IN. ALL MAINTENANCE AND FLUIDS HAVE BEEN MAINTAINED. IT COMES WITH A BRAND NEW BATTERY WITH 2YRS 11 MONTHS LEFT ON THE THREE YEAR WARRANTY. I JUST PUT BRAND NEW TIRES ON THE REAR. IT HAS A FULL MICHELIN RADIAL SPARE IN THE UNDERSIDE HARNESS. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH DUAL PRO-AIR FOR FRONT AND REAR COMFORT. IT HAS SEPARATE IN/OUT RCA OUTPUTS FOR PRIVACY. THE RUGS HAVE ALWAYS HAD WALL TO WALL COVERINGS SO THERE ARE NO WEAR THROUGH SPOTS OR TEARS. THE FOUR CAPTAINS SEATS ARE THE BUCKET TYPE AND ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS SOME WEAR ON THE EDGE FROM ENTERING AND EXITING. ALL SEATS ARE LEATHER. IT HAS A CUSTOM FOG LIGHT AND FRONT FENDER WHICH I REMOVED BECAUSE, ALTHOUGH IT ADDED A VERY NICE LOOK TO THE VEHICLE, IT WAS LOW AND I ALWAYS MANAGED TO SCRAP IT ON THE PARKING LOT CEMENT STOPPERS. (BUT IT IS AVAILABLE AND VERY EASY TO REINSTALL). IT ALSO HAS REMOTE/KEYLESS ENGINE START. WE USED TO STAND OR SIT UNDER THE TARP AND START THE VAN AND THEN RUN TO GET OUT OF THE HOT FLORIDA SUN. I LOVE THIS VAN AM WILL BE SORRY TO SEE IT GO. BUT WE HAVE AN EMPTY NEST NOW AND DOWN SIZING THE NUMBER OF CARS IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES CAREFULLY. THERE ARE TWO SMALL DENTS RIGHT AND LEFT FRONT FROM OUR TENT BEING BLOWN OVER AT GAMES. (WOW ! WHAT FUN THAT WAS.) SO THATS IT! LOW MILEAGE AND TENDER CARE IS WHAT IS OFFERED HERE. DON'T SNOOZE ON THIS OPPORTUNITY. If YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE!!!! |

Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.
Ford made three big mistakes in calculating MPG for 2013 C-Max Hybrid
Tue, Jun 17 2014It's been a rough time for the official fuel economy figures for the Ford C-Max Hybrid. When the car was released in 2012, Ford made a huge deal about how it would beat the Toyota Prius V, which was rated at 42 combined miles per gallon, 44 city and 40 highway. The Ford? 47 mpg across the board. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? Well, after hearing customer complaints and issuing a software update in mid-2013, then discovering a real problem with the numbers last fall and then making a big announcement last week that the fuel economy ratings of six different 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles would need to be lowered, the C-Max Hybrid has ended up at 40 combined, 42 city and 37 highway. In other words, the Prius trumps it, as daily drivers of those two vehicles have known for a long time. The changes will not only affect the window sticker, but also the effect that the C-Max Hybrid (and the five other Ford vehicles that had their fuel economy figures lowered last week) have on Ford's compliance with greenhouse gas and CAFE rules for model year 2013 and 2014. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? There are two technical answers to that question, which we've got below, as well as some context for how Ford's mistakes will play out in the bigger world of green vehicles. Let's start with Ford's second error, which is easy to do since we documented it in detail last year (the first, needing to do a software update, was also covered). The basic gist is that Ford used the general label rule (completely legally) to test the Fusion Hybrid and use those numbers to figure out how efficient the C-Max Hybrid is. That turned out to be a mistake, since the two vehicles are different enough that their numbers were not comparable, despite having the same engine, transmission and test weight, as the rules require. You can read more details here. Ford's Said Deep admitted that the TRLHP issue is completely separate from the general label error from last year. Now let's move on to last week's announcement. What's interesting is that the new recalculation of the MPG numbers – downward, of course – was caused by a completely separate issue, something called the Total Road Load Horsepower (TRLHP). Ford's Said Deep admitted to AutoblogGreen that the TRLHP issue had nothing to do with the general label error from last year.
Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]
Mon, 08 Jul 2013It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
