UP FOR AUCTION IS MY 1999 FORD E250 4X4. IT FEATURES A QUIGLEY CONVERSION, AND A 5.4 TRITON ENGINE. IT HAS LOCKING HUBS, AND A SHIFTER INSIDE. IT ALSO FEATURES POWER WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, AND AN ALPINE CD PLAYER. I HAVE HAD THIS VAN FOR 3 OR 4 YEARS. I BOUGHT IT ON EBAY(NEAR BOSTON.) IT IS AN AWESOME VEHICLE FOR CAMPING AND SNOWBOARDING. I HATE TO SELL IT, BUT IT NEEDS WORK WHICH I CAN'T AFFORD. SO I AM FORCED TO SELL. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS BODY WORK. THE BOTTOM IS STARTING TO RUST. ALSO IT HAD SOME AMATEUR BODY WORK DONE BEFORE WHICH IS NOW FAILING. THE BODY IS SOLID UP HIGH, THE DAMAGE IS ON THE BOTTOM 10". MECHANICALLY IT RUNS GREAT. ENGINE AND TRANS STILL VERY SOLID. SHIFTS GREAT. THE INSPECTION RAN OUT ON IT IN DECEMBER. I TRIED TO GET IT INSPECTED, BUT IT FAILED BECAUSE THE "ABS" LIGHT IS LIT ON THE DASH. I'M NOT SURE WHY THE LIGHT IS ON, BUT BRAKES WORK FINE. I HAVE PUT A TON OF PARTS IN THE VAN. INCLUDING: NEW RADIATOR, NEW STARTER, NEW BATTERY, 2 NEW KELLY SAFARI TIRES(YOU STILL NEED 2 FOR THE BACK), NEW FRONT STEERING STABILIZER SHOCK, NEW SERPENTINE FAN BELT, NEW FRONT HUBS, NEW U JOINTS IN BOTH DRIVE SHAFTS, NEW FRONT ROTORS AND BRAKES, AND I'M INCLUDING A BRAND NEW LUND FIBERGLASS VISOR WHICH I NEVER HAD TIME TO INSTALL. OTHER THAN THE RUST, AND THE ABS LIGHT, THERE ARE A FEW OTHER PROBLEMS. INCLUDING: MINOR DINGS TO BODY, WEAR ON CARPET, RUSTED REAR BUMPER, AND THE DOOR HANDLE STICKS. ALSO MY DOG USED TO CHEW STUFF. SO ONE DAY SHE CHEWED END OFF OF THE SHIFTER WHERE THERE USED TO BE A SWITCH TO TURN OFF THE OVERDRIVE. SHE ALSO CHEWED THE LATCHES FOR THE SEAT BELTS. OTHERWISE A GREAT VEHICLE. PLEASE E-MAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS. IF YOU ARE ANYWHERE NEAR LONDONDERRY, VERMONT YOU CAN COME BE AND CHECK IT OUT.

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses
Mon, 06 Jan 2014For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.
2015 Ford S-Max adds all-wheel drive, adaptive steering
Fri, 03 Oct 2014The Blue Oval's 'One Ford' mantra has seen rapid commonization of the automaker's products across markets, but North America still has to look from afar at most of the company's Max-branded people movers, including this new S-Max. That's a bit of a shame - we like the space efficiency and above-average driving dynamics of the C-Max models we do get, but seeing this updated seven-seat small minivan makes us want the One Ford initiative to extend even further.
The new model's changes include an updated powertrain range including a 1.5-liter EcoBoost four with 158 horsepower, and a larger, 237-horsepower, 2.0-liter model, along with a pair of revised lower-emissions 2.0-liter diesels. The big news, however, is the advent of available all-wheel drive, something that hasn't been offered since the S-Max first went on sale back in 2006.
On the technology front, the S-Max is the first European model to receive Ford Adaptive Steering, a variable-ratio technology we recently sampled in a prototype Fusion that is expected to go into production on the next-generation Edge. The S-Max also receives a new aluminum-intensive integral link rear suspension, packaged to continue to fit up to 32 different seating combinations. Safety equipment is always a prime concern in kinschleppers like the S-Max, and to that end, this new model receives pre-collision assist technology and LED headlamps.
Ex-PR chief Vines accuses Ford of bugging cars, phones
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Jason Vines, former head of communications at Ford among other automakers, is accusing the Blue Oval of bugging his company phone and his car during the Firestone tire recall for the Explorer in 2001. The allegations have come to light in Vines' upcoming book What Did Jesus Drive? Crisis PR in Cars, Computers and Christianity.
According to The Detroit News, which has an advance copy of the book, Vines (pictured above) claims that after leaving the company, someone with security within Ford advised him that he had been bugged around the time of the recall. The allegations don't stop there, though. Vines further contends that he might not have been the only one to get this treatment, noting that then-general counsel John Rintamaki also believed he was being listened to.
According to The Detroit News, even if it had been a company phone, recording Vines without his knowledge still would have been a felony under Michigan law.
