1967 Econoline Van

This is another New Mexico treasure that has very little rust. We think it was an old military van because it has dual gas tanks and an army green interior.

Exterior

All the doors and panels are in really good shape. On the drivers side left corner of the van there is a little crunch (see pics). At one time there was an antenna on the roof of the car and there is bon-do on the hole. There is one panel door that has rust damage (see pics). On the passenger side lower flange there is a 5in long, 1/4 in wide rust spot. There is light surface rust on the back doors where the paint is peeling but the back doors are solid.
Listed and photographed are the rust spot that are visible.

Interior

The interior shell looks great. The seats are torn and there is one crack on the dash. There are two steel door panels that are extras to replace the wood paneling. All the glass is good except for the windshield.
There are two extra vent windows if the ones up front ever need to be replaced.

Mechanical

This van does not run. The engine has compression and we were told that the previous owner spent $900 on a rebuild.
There is a new transmission that our mechanic checked and said would work. The old transmission comes with the vehicle but is not installed.
It may need a new carburetor.

This van is being sold as a project car. It has a clear title. Remember that you are buying a vintage vehicle that is 46 years old.
Happy Bidding!

FL man fatally shot after urging driver not to do donuts in a Mustang

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Bradley Holt (pictured), the older half-brother of University of South Florida freshman quarterback Quinton Flowers, was killed in a random act of violence last week.
The 24-year-old Holt was throwing a football around with local kids in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami, when a yellow Mustang showed up and started doing donuts in the street. Holt, worried about kids playing in front his apartment complex, walked over to the driver and asked him why he was "driving so crazy with so many kids out here?"
The driver left. Holt's sister said the driver came back "about 15 to 20 minutes later" and fired two shots at Holt. One of them hit Holt in the back of the head, killing him.

Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid nab five-star ratings from NHTSA

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Ford's Fusion and Fusion Hybrid have both received the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The rating is a big upgrade for the Fusion, which was completely redesigned for 2013. The previous model fell one star short of the top rating, after scoring only three stars in the frontal crash test and four stars in the side crash test and rollover evaluations. The 2013 Fusion received four stars in side crash and rollover testing and a full five stars in the front crash test.
Test results for the 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid were greatly improved at least in part due to Ford's Personal Safety System. The system utilizes smarter sensors to gather crash data and tailor the car's restraint systems to the occupants. Seatbelt usage and seat position are taken into account to ensure airbags deploy with less pressure for smaller drivers, more for larger drivers.
The 2013 Fusion twins also received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ designation. Read the official press release below.

2015 Ford Mustang fuel economy ratings leaked

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Thinking about buying a new Mustang, but want to know what kind of fuel economy it'll get? Well we have our first indication as the pony-car enthusiasts over at Mustang6G.com have gotten a hold of the Monroney window stickers for a few of the new 2015 Mustang models.
Although the V8 model is not among them, we can now see how the EPA has rated those models with a half dozen pistons or less. The Mustang EcoBoost with the turbo four and a manual transmission has been rated at 22 miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway. The V6 manual gets 17 city and 28 highway, while the V6 automatic squeezes out a bit more in the city at 19 mpg but carries the same 28 highway rating.
By way of comparison, the latest Chevy Camaro with the V6 and a stick shift gets the same 17/28 EPA rating as a similarly equipped new 'Stang, and the V6 automatic Camaro gets 18/27 (slightly behind the Ford, but if you opt for the Camaro 2LS with its V6, automatic and 2.92 rear axle ratio, you'll be looking at 19 and 30).
