Gorgeous 1984 Crown Victoria Wagon 63k Mile Time Capsule! on 2040-cars
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Absolutely beautiful example of a car that is heading it's way to the collectors world! I purchased this 1984 Crown Victoria Wagon from its original owners. The car has always been garage kept, the body is rust free, the chrome shines with a gleam, and the paint shows no sun fade or clear coat loss. Currently at 63K miles and not missing a beat, the 5.0 Throttle Body Injected v8 runs like a top, the transmission shifts smoothly and the car will stop on a dime. It steers straight as an arrow down the highway, cruise control works fine with no issues. The interior is almost as nice as the day it left the factory, when the car was purchased new the owner did two things, they put blankets over the front and back seats, and they requested the rear seats to not be installed. (I have them and they are included, they appear "new" and never mounted. It has never been smoked in. All electronics function as they should, windows and door locks work without hesitation, the clock is accurate, the factory radio tunes in perfect with no static from the speakers. The two-way tailgate works as it should. The car had four brand new tires put on it before winter. The AC does work, but will be in need of a recharge, (Car is still running R12 and I couldn't bring myself to retro-fit it over) The gas gauge does not work, which according to the owners, stopped working in 1986. A NOS sending unit they purchased in 86' is included to solve this problem. There is a 2" scratch above the passenger rear taillight, and one tiny ding on the door pillar, that the owner swears Ford themselves did when the car was purchased off the lot. I have a clean and clear PA title for this beautiful machine, and it is inspected in PA until the end of next year. The car is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction early. I can be reached at 610-679-0311 with any questions. I am not looking for any trades.

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
Ford Recalls Nearly 700,000 Vehicles
Fri, May 9 2014Ford is recalling more than 692,000 Escape small SUVs and C-Max gas-electric hybrids in North America to fix two safety problems. The recalls cover vehicles from the 2013 and 2014 model years. Most of the Escapes have both problems. The first case covers 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles. A software glitch can stop the side curtain air bags from inflating in certain types of rollover crashes. The company says it has no reports of crashes or injuries. Dealers will reprogram the air bag control computer for free. About 65,000 of the recalled vehicles are C-Max models, and the rest are Escapes. Roughly 591,000 are in the U.S., with 3,500 more in U.S. territories. About 78,000 are in Canada and another 19,500 are in Mexico, Fordspokeswoman Kelli Felker said in an e-mail. There could be more vehicles affected in other markets, the company said. The affected Escapes were built from Oct. 5, 2011 through Feb. 14, 2014. The C-Max vehicles were built from Jan. 19, 2012, through Feb. 24, 2014. The second case covers about 692,700 Escapes. Exterior door handles can bind and stop the door from latching properly. This could allow doors to open while the SUVs are in motion. Dealers will inspect the handles and reposition them if needed. No crashes or injuries have been reported. About 583,000 are in the U.S. or its territories, with another 89,500 in Canada and 20,000 in Mexico. Ford said in this case, the problem may affect vehicles in other markets. All the North American Escapes were built from Oct. 5, 2011, through April 10, 2014. Recalls Ford escape
Peel and Ford Transit do a great Austin Powers impression
Tue, May 6 2014It's no secret that the average fullsize cargo van is big. Like, really big. Expressing that size, though, without actually seeing the van in question, is a pretty tall order. When viewed from the right angle, even something as big as a cargo van can appear very small (look up forced perspective, to see what we mean). That's why it's always good to have a second object on hand, to provide a sense of scale. Ford took this simple idea to the extreme, illustrating the size of the new Ford Transit by pulling the world's smallest production car, the Peel P50, nose first into the van's 487-cubic-foot cargo area. That's no big deal, though, right? After all, at just 54 inches long and 39 inches wide, the Peel would fit quite happily in even the smallest fullsize truck bed. Ford takes it a step further, though. With the help of an actual reverse gear (we're guessing this is a CVT-equipped, electric model), the P50 manages to turn itself around and drive out. It does this in less than two minutes. So yeah, the Ford Transit is a pretty big van. Take a look below for the video from Ford. This content is hosted by a third party.
